I'm waiting for the announcement from New Labour that there will be no boxing, wrestling, shooting and martial arts in 2012 because someone might get hurt...

Ken Livingstone has had a change of heart once he realised that somebody LOSES if somebody wins. And they might get upset.

Surely the javelin has to be canned on the grounds of healthy and safety? Do we REALLY want to encourage our 10 and 11 year olds to be throwing compasses round the classroom like they're Steve BACKLEY??

What? As in trying to get boxing banned? Just like that staunchly new labour, revolutionary socialist organisation the British Medical Association?

Some people really do talk bollocks sometimes.

PC Brigade going well over the top. This is the 2012 Olympics in GB for f*** sake, we should be showing off our culture and heritage to the world.

FFS this really gets on my tits !!!!!

Gotta love the way the press make this stuff up. Even in their account, they said the Red Arrows were banned for being "too militaristically British" and then they just carry on as if the word 'militaristically' wasn't even there. All of a sudden they are saying they are banned for being "too British". Do people actually swallow this stuff?

Yep, was thinking EXACTLY the same. Sadly ding dong is probably allowed to vote.

Yes I'm a big boy now ( 40 to be precise ) !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm afraid it is people probably like yourself who will let all and sundry in to this country no matter what race, creed or religion with no questions asked !!! When are people like yourself going to realise that as a nation, our identity is slowly dwindling.:ban:

A pedant writes ...

The 2012 Olympics weren't awarded to Great Britain. They were awarded to the city of London.

It's London's culture and heritage that needs showing off.

I think the London Olympics should have one event. It will last 24hrs and it will be a massive brawl. The opening ceremony ends and all the participants from all the differant nations just run at each other in a massive bear pit, kicking the shit out of each other. One man must remain standing and one man only. For his efforts he will get to have a slap up meal in Maccy D's.

Well if you are 40 perhaps you should have realised by now that to repeatedly spout crap does not make it true, it just makes it repeatedly spouted crap.

The fact that after this thread has comprehensively debunked the lie that the red arrows have been banned from the london olympics opening ceremony you still feel the need to post a idiotic comment about how 'pc people' are trying to ban the red arrows actually shows you up to be a bit of an imbecile quite frankly.

Edit to add. The group of people who used to be known as the 'feeble minded' are in fact prevented from voting I believe.

The only reason the Red Arrows have been banned is because they have been replaced by the Battle of Britain memorial flight doing a mock re-run of the Dambusters raid into a giant water feature in the centre of the Olympic stadium, it's true i read it in The Sun.
