TB finds out RDZ who he has admired for some time has become available, unfortunately because of the horrendous war in Ukraine.
A few days before Trunchball gets the sacked TB or PB get wind of it. TB tells PB to go on the radio (can’t remember if it was talk shite or 5 live) and big up Potter, say how good he is, etc
Chelsea fall for it, hook,line and sinker. Come in for Potter, Tod big wedge phones up PB saying they want to talk to Potter. PB is like ”no, no we can’t let our bestest manger ever go so early in the season“ Tod big wedge does not know “No” and says “we will give 20 million, plus” PB winks to TB and says “Oh OK if you must, you can talk to him”
Before he has hung up, PB is thumbing through his Filofax for RDZ number and the rest is History.

To expand on that, TB/PB (who rate RDZ and others, higher), repeatedly makes it known to the media “that the club won’t stand in anyone’s way”. Encouraging the fat yank.
