Starting the thread now… is he an Amsterdam local? Diabolical. Questionable calls at every turn. Yellows for the first foul (for us). Blows the whistle without playing extra time in the first half? Wank.

Mitoma booked for trying to take a shot and accidentally catching the Ajax player seemed harsh. Few other strange calls as well. No consistency, just random and arbitrary.

He didn't play any extra time because there was none offered up.

His general refereeing was very good. The Mitoma card was a bit odd as was the non yellow card for a foul on Gilmour. The Van Hecke card was justified as he held the player en route and continued to hold as he turned.....

...but it would be no fun without the ref thread.

If you are going to start a thread for this referee you may as well do it for all of them.

Oh :lolol:

Fourth official indicated '0 minutes'. Not much to do with the ref.

Was puzzled when he seemed to stop play when Dunk had the ball to allow subs to happen.
Believe he stopped it as he thought their player needed treatment

Seemed okay to me.

Unless things have changed the ref tells the 4th official how much time is to be added.

The subs thing was very odd though.

Worthing
Thought we could have had two penalties on fouls on Pedro in the first half - especially the second one - the Ajax player didn’t get the ball

I thought he was a bit shit. Very lenient on Ajax fouls. Ridiculous booking for Mitoma and we should have had a penalty.
50/50 coming together of shoulders. It wasn’t a clear-cut penalty.

Other than the stupid yellow for JPVH didn’t really notice him which is what should happen more often

He wasn't great, not as bad as the AEK ref. . . .

I took an old friend, now in his 70's who was a county league ref for some years until he retired about 18 years ago, he thought he was shitehouse.

Shock - we win a game and you blame the ref.

One of the more theatrical refereeing performances I've seen at the Amex. He had several nifty moves over the course of the game.
