Come back when Wilkins has taken us up at the first time of asking and then guided us to our highest league finish in 25 years.

No you were calling those who thought McGhee was doing a good job wankers. I'm sorry but you can think both managers did/are doing good jobs. As for being thick, I won a bottle of wine in the pub quiz tuesday, so thats imposible. :lolol: :salute:

At some points in MM's tenure, I thought he was doing a good job as well. The arguments on here are when people say "this bad period of results proves that MM was doing well with a little", or "DW is a much better manager than MM will ever be" etc (along those lines). It's all well and good to stand by the manager as an integral part of the team, be loyal to the manager as much as the players working for the side - but there is a time in EVERY club where the writing is etched deep enough into the wall to realise that a manager isn't right, isn't up to the job, and isn't worth hanging on for (same as players, and few get to bow out with honours, like Shearer did ferinstance, and mgr. Fergie might).

It's fair enough that some people think MM did a great job and deserve credit, which for some periods he did. Towards the end though, his squad folded their hand easily when under the cosh, he made strange and poor judgements/subs/player-positions and alienated our best players.

It's all a matter of opinion as to how well he did with little funds. There had been other managers before him, let's not forget.

The bottom line is, that you wouldn't have won that pub quiz, if one of the questions was "were McGhee supporters wankers" :salute:
