If Mitoma leaves, we might have a problem at LW.

His cover in Adingra and Enciso, are both either underperforming or have asked to leave the club. Barco already been sold on. Osman only good enough for the bench in the Eredivisie. Solly can't seem to bounce back from injury.

João Pedro on the left maybe (assuming he stays), but he's somewhat wasted there. Or maybe Kadioglu?

Otherwise Mitoma leaving could trigger some player churn on the left.
It's possible Watson gets a squad place, that said he's very young.

If Mitoma left I would guess we would look to buy a first team winger. Adingra hasn't done enough to make a case to be our first choice in that position

I'd be happy keeping hold of what we've got, plus post pre-season pick of loanees returning

Who would have named Ayari this time last season ? And if we have to let a 'star' go, João Pedro for me.
Yep. Keeping what we have although feel we could lose 1 big star (Mitoma to a champions league club, possibly Villa as they want him according to supporters I talk to). Getting a clear treatment room and with last summers newbies having a season of learning, we'll be OK to kick on.

I don't see baleba leaving. He's come out in interviews saying he's not quite ready for the top top level yet and I don't see a big boy paying what we want. There may be bids but we will tell baleba to wait until next summer, he doesn't seem the type to kick off.

Mitoma... interesting one. Mitoma doesn't want to go to Saudi. Think he will go but don't think we will get anywhere near the insane levels that the Saudis were offering.

Pedro.... Bye bye probably for a lot less than people think. Maybe 50m with add ons and sell on. Won't go to a massive club. Could well be a villa or Newcastle.

Bold and confident prediction - Mitoma ain't going anywhere.

There'll be lots of speculation, maybe even some decent offers, but he'll WANT to stay and we'll want to keep him.
Absolutely agree with this. He turns 28 tomorrow and the modern European market means that big money isn't dropped without the prospect of getting some of that back at some point. If we're demanding upwards of £75m, and he's happy at Brighton, no team is going to chase him because this will be his final move for money. If he wants to move on to a European giant, he's far more likely to not sign a new deal and depart in a year or two for a lower fee or free.

At the same time, I think this summer may be down to whether he is at all open to a move to Saudi. If they want him as much as they did in January, then a life changing amount of money (for club and player) will be on the table. We can't compete with the financials and at the end of the day, it comes down to whether he wants to play here, or there.

we'll see speculation on 3/4 squad leaving, in the end about 2-3 + Milner will. usually far fewer players leave than we'd think/hope will go.

we need to bring in replacement for Dunk and usual full back cover, wing cover, new 10+ goal striker etc. then we'll sing 2-3 in positions we already have covered.

An incredibly tedious summer of transfer speculation, at some point pretty much everyone will be "leaving", I think Joao Pedro will be the only "big time" player to leave with a number of "second tier" players going - Adingra, Enciso, etc

We will sign a centre back, an unheard of winger but no right back.

Its the hope that kills so I expect Euro qualification of one colour or another.

Too few Saturday games and even more shit transport (if that's possible).

Villa are already close to breaching FFP regs and apparently have to sell a player. They also want to buy Rashford. They may want Mitoma but they'd need to ship at least one player out, possibly two.

Liverpool may be more likely if Gakpo is on his way, Man U are rumoured to want him, so that's a possibility too. We'll have to see

Will give it some deeper thought after a few weeks break following our last match of this season but …

Not much ‘prediction’ given Barco is on a loan with an obligation to buy.

Buonanotte will probably be sold - or have another loan - we are very over supplied in the attacking midfield area.

I suppose Nélson Semedo (33) (RB) might be a possible oldie to get in and if Bart leaves, there’s always Benité (32) from the farmers league I suppose - both out of contract this summer. But can’t see us getting a Kevin de Bruyne ‘big name’ 32+.

When have any of them NOT been linked?

Riveting stuff - thanks.
Semedo is generally at fault for a lot of goals Wolves concede.
My mate a Wolves fan can’t stand him rants at me most weeks saying how crap he is🤣

Cody isn’t going anywhere, Nunez, Jota and possibly Diaz if Barca stump up £80m.

I'm assuming Martinez is off and possibly Watkins too. Not sure they'll go for Rashford as his wages are virtually treble what they pay their current top stars. They need that champions league place to balance the books though.

Now that the season is effectively over for us - what do you want to happen, think will happen, or predict will happen over the summer going into next season?

Predict we will get rid of some of our weaker links - this includes Milner, Adingra, Ferguson and Barco. Suspect Enciso & Sarmiento will be going too. Looks like Lamptey on a free as well.

Reckon we'll see some of our young players go out on loan, including a couple of surprises, depending who we get in. Buonaonotte will be back in the first team. Cashin goes out on loan for the season.

Predict (and hope) our main targets will be Defenders and a striker. Reckon we'll get at least one big name 32+ year old, which seems to be the way.

Verbruggen, Baleba, Pedro, van Hecke and Mitoma will be linked to big clubs for big fees. Predict Baleba will be the only one that goes (£80m+), leaving a big hole in our midfield, but we will look to replace.
For what its worth I don't think Baleba will go this window. I think Pedro might and I'd rather he went then Baleba. I'd keep Ferguson as we are very light on out and out strikers unless we are planning to bring one in or we think Howell is ready to be back up.

I recognise nine of these players, so let's assume they are staying.

But who are the three new signings?

I'd be surprised if Ferguson left as I suspect there won't be much interest out there unless he went to Championship. If it doesn't bloat the squad too much Id rather he stayed and we see if we can re-set the lad.

I reckon Buanoanotte (spelling?) deserves a go for us as I think he did OK at Leicester despite van Nistellroy's (also spelling?) best efforts.

I don't like players going as I'm insecure and don't like change 😄, but Id be less sad about Pedro and Enciso (despite his wonder goals) being on their way out than Carlos and Mitomo. But we did wonder what would happen when Caicedo/McAllister/Bissouma/Gross/
whoever left and it's been OK!!
