Those little political signs in people's gardens

















Had a chat about this in my office just before spotting the thread.

I can see the point of the personal ones - 'Vote Chris Kamara', etc, as there's an element of name recognition to it - the typically Tory voter (let's assume dear Chris is standing for the Tories) might not have known that Chris was his local Tory nominee unless he'd seen the sign outside number 42. But the Labour ones, which just state 'Vote Labour', seem to me to be entirely pointless. As others have pointed out, why would anyone's vote be affected by whom their neighbours are voting for (in a positive way at least)?

I have no idea what you're talking about.

He suggested that you can see how nice or nasty your neighbours are if they have a poster in the window. I think that's ridiculous, so I joked that you can also see how stupid they are.
