This is NOT a dig at Crystal Palace but...

....has there ever been a situation where a manager employed by another club turns up at another team's training, talks to that team's players and has management meetings to discuss potential transfer targets whilst still under contract at his current employer?

Is it just me or is that really odd?

It is a little dig but....our slightly socially awkward neighbours deserve it

Purely guessing here but he's probably not officially on Palace's books yet and he is just an "adviser" until all the legal work is taken care of..

Does it matter .

There you go again!

If it doesn't matter to you then stop replying in the thread!

I'm asking as it matters to me as the bigger picture of it is that football, yet again, goes about it's business in a very odd way and I wanted to share that. That ok?

Far be it for me to stand up for Palace but this article is timed at 21.06.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30637258

Actually, that link does confirm that he was attending meetings and giving directions BEFORE he signed a contract.

As I say, I am just bemused how 'the football business' continues to act in a way that is bizarre to say the least. Imagine if he suddenly had a call this afternoon and he was offered another job, let's say at Leicester and he decided to take it, which he was entitled to do at that point, almost like Sammy Lee did here except that Lee hadn't been in to our training to talk with the players already (as far as we know!!)

This is a dig at Crystal Palace.

Why has the club that took such a public high moral stance against appointing Malky Mackay not been troubled about appointing a manager responsible for things like this?

Please do not raise any potential trouble for NSC by seeing this as a prompt to detail any other of the internet rumours about the man. The documented incidents would surely have been enough for responsible employers outside of the greedy, hypocritcal world of football to steer clear of employing the man.

He really is a horrible **** isn't he - perfect for them. Just like Colin was hated by most of the football world. Perfect. Oh and also never forget the egg on his face when the prick mouthed off about Reading winning the title in the old div 2

Hookwood - Nr Horley
Except that didn't happen

And it doesn't really answer the question I asked, does it?

So, if you must come on our forum perhaps you could try to answer with intelligence, especially as there was no derogatory intention in said question.

If you can't do that, then, with respect f**k off!

It DID happen and the club admitted as much!

Not exactly!

Earlier in the day Gus and his advisors were advised that a decision would be reached later that day about him being fired and his advisors were expecting him to be fired. As agreed, a voicemail was left for Gus to confirm the decision but his phone was off, he then listened to the message when he was in the studio (during half time I believe?).

It's not quite the same as phoning him whilst he is on tv and telling him!

Even more bizarre that BHAFC, the club oft-sanctimoniously lauded by its fans as being some sort of 'class above', stood by negrito hating Suarez sympathiser Gus, only pulling the trigger on him via trumped up 'charges' when it looked like he was going to hurt try to hurt the club where it matters to them most - in the pocket.

The usual diversionary tactics and failure to address the point, but as its fairly simple to explain Poyet's naïve statement, I'll bite. How about, in return, a proper engagement with the points raised, rather than a tit for tat attack on the Albion?

Only those with an agenda have made any suggestion that Poyet said anything racist. He didn't know the full facts, was trying to explain cultural differences between Uruguay and the UK in a second language in an attempt to defend a friend of a friend and, like many other times, would have been wiser to have said 'No Comment' when a microphone was put in front of him. There was nothing but misplaced good intent.

Let's now hear your robust defence of Pardew's good character. Start with his sniggering about rape and perhaps explain to me why what McKay did was any worse.

Those who don't claim the higher ground need not refute claims of hypocrisy, especially in response to tittle tattle.

Nothing racist or homophobic (allegedly) as far as I can see here so not sure it's comparable.

Pardew is an interesting and complex character and I, for one, welcome his imminent appointment by the former Glaziers. He promises to be an interesting addition to the south London social scene, such as it is.

I think that Pardew was never really loved at Newcastle. Every few bad results and the fans got on his back. His family are probably still based in London. He would never get a top club in London so it would be a choice between Palace and a club like Barnet.
