It's just basic things-

The government and Schools are always encouraged to get kids into sport so why do the Albion get involved within East and West Sussex at Primary level to encourage sport not neccesarily just football but get their name around at an early age might even be some sort of grants available for this- offer prizes of days at Withdean, meet the players - holiday time soccer schools with players regualraly visiting the schools - lets face it the players have enough time on their hands.
Free school trips round the ground - although theres not much to see kids aged 8-11 would love it. Yes it would take a bit of organising and some set up costs for literature but in the long run - it could convert into ticket sales.

The club need to get in the minds of both the kids and parents at an early age before the Man U and Chelsea marketing machines get in if they only got 4 out of every 10 kids we'd be laughing
Um, they already do various aspects of this.

They just don't need to scream from the highest rooftops 'look at us, aren't we wonderful - we go into schools and EVERYTHING...'

Wel if they do it's not apparent, they obviously aren't trying hard enough when the likes of Charlton are coming into Sussex and poaching our potential supporters. and succeding

Charlton v Man u

or Albion v Carlilse - difficult choice for a class of 8 year olds.

Dick and Martin Perry have gone all quiet haven't they?Dean Wilkins is working with a youth team and the older pros have had it.No foresight to get some roofs over the poorly planned Withdean stadium. I couldn't get a season ticket this year cos of my job but I have been one for ten years before hand but for the quality on the pitch and the entertainment...well £24.50 is not value for money now is it?Martin Perry's so called expertease now sound like expert bullshit and Dick Knight's marketing ideas haven't hit the ground running have they? All this plus the added bonus of the chaps putting all their eggs in one basket for Falmer and no plan B are becoming very transparent. They are not providing the supporters with value for money hense the crowds dwindling dramatically. We should be selling this ground out!Plus the fact that all the blocks have got mixed supporters all over the shop.Behind the goal should be singing all around to create a small amount of collective atmosphere x
Fundamentally, I wholeheartedly disagree with not only the thread title, but also the sentiments and the nuances contained within that post.

It's all well and good slagging off Martin Perry for Lewes District Council's behaviour, and for the Government's f*** up, but as someone has has apparently no idea about what is actually going on regarding Falmer, how do you propose to resolve this 'Martin Perry's so called expertease now sound like expert bullshit' situation?

Do tell.

I know it's not apparent to you. But because you don't read about it, you assume it doesn't happen. True? How do you know 'they obviously aren't trying hard enough..'? when you live in Yorkshire, and have no idea what's going on on a day-to-day basis in Sussex?

So what if Charlton trawl Sussex for new fans, Brighton do too. I can't help it if you won't accept that fact.

Bloody hell, you only ever visit Withdean two or three times a season.

I understand anyones right to have a moan if they see fit. However there are quite a few issues all working against us at the moment which require the patience and support of the fans. I appreciate that people are getting hacked off and impatient for these issues to be resolved but undermining the efforts of the management will not be productive in the mean time nor provide financial assistance to the club.

We are stuck at Withdean exactly how it is for the moment. (No roofs, heated toilet seats or other whims of fancy)

We are waiting for decisions re FALMER (nowhere else)

People wanted MM gone, he's gone - what the heck did you think you'd get in the interim except Wilkins?

Change to the ticket allocation system (specifically WHU) would cost money - ie new computer systems (database), training of staff etc - who's going to pay?

We are 15th on the table with all these issues - I actually think thats pretty darn good and I applaud everyones efforts to get us there...We've got to expect some ups and downs for the club, we've been through worse haven't we?
