Were there many?

Being able to stand on the terraces, for some, seems an obvious one
.

What else?

Quite a specific one this: lunch and beers at the golf club next to Brunton Park before the Carlisle game.

If anyone's interested, I normally had the gammon.

The chanting at the people with their curtains open in the flats overlooking Orient during an evening game.

MUCH better than "We're the North/West/East stands"

Apart from terracing I'm struggling to think of a single thing. The 'we won more often' comment is quite pertinent though. When we got to the old 1st division in 1979 crowds declined as we were no longer winning like we'd done in the old third division days. Wouldn't bet against that happening again, in fact I think it's a given.

Taking sufficient numbers to Orient that half the crowd was our support.
Seeing a few of them noshing an all-you-can-eat pizza in town, and nobody except my table knowing who they were.
Being able to sponsor the match for a reasonable price with mates.

Oooh, I'd forgotten the sponsored games. They were brilliant.

I love being in this league. But, there are or were some cracking away days and lovely old grounds in the lower leagues. Gay Meadow anyone?
