Now, 23 games with a 8850 capacity at £15 average ticket price is a turnover of £3,053,250.

Say we have a squad of 36 on average of £40,000 per year the players wage bill comes to £1,440,000. Add 20 other staff at £30,000 per year we get £600,000.

It costs £20k to stage a game at Withdean. 23 games comes in at £460,000.

This still leaves £553,000 left over per year and totally ignores any other revenue streams. Some, like transfer fees, are very significant sums.

Further more, I feel I have probably greatly over estimated the average player salary. Given the vast majority of our squad are young and inexperienced I would have grave concerns if the average was anywhere near 50k per player.

I appreciate the simplistic nature of my maths, but I really do struggle to see how the club claim that theu would still be losing money hand over fist even if the ground was sold out week after week.

Dick Knight, please explain where the money is going. This is not a criticism, it is a request for clarification.

I would put this on the 'Ask the club' board but fear it will be deleted.

Um, why did you put that question here? Dick Knight doesn't read this board - so how are you expecting him to answer it?

If you email Martin Perry straight, can you let us know what the answer is?

Since when have we averaged a gate of 8850....your argument is instantly flawed...if you want to know the real position just download a set of the clubs accounts from the companies house website...I have and the last accounts show a trading loss of over 1 million and a balance sheet deficit of 6 million

IF you read my post you will see it challenges The Insider's statement about how the club would loose money EVEN if the ground was sold out week after week. Quite clearly, due to the shite football, this is not the case.

What makes you think our players are only earning £40K a year? You know Constantine was offered in excess of £150K, and there are going to be other players earning in excess of £40K.

That is another reason why your figures are hilarious

I'm sure they do show a loss.

The Ladybird Book of Football Finance, it would appear.

Billychops, if you're so confident that Dick Knight is sitting on a small goldmine here, raking in millions a year from the Albions ever-swelling coffers to buy yachts and private islands and stuff, why don't you go check the clubs accounts filed at Companies House. Then come back and tell us all the untold riches that are washing around in this vast slush fund the club is no doubt amounting whilst playing at a rented athletics track.

Can I suggest you get a statistics for beginners book and look up how arithmetic means are derived?

When was the last time we had near that size of gate?

Say we have a squad of 36 on average of £40,000 per year the players wage bill comes to £1,440,000. Add 20 other staff at £30,000 per year we get £600,000.

Average £40 k - don't think so.

It costs £20k to stage a game at Withdean. 23 games comes in at £460,000.

Agree with that part re trannsfers, however yo do seem to have forgotten that it costs money to borrow money...

Further more, I feel I have probably greatly over estimated the average player salary. Given the vast majority of our squad are young and inexperienced I would have grave concerns if the average was anywhere near 50k per player.

Don't agree with that

I appreciate the simplistic nature of my maths, but I really do struggle to see how the club claim that theu would still be losing money hand over fist even if the ground was sold out week after week.

Too many reasons to list - why don't you look at the Club's A/C - they are easily available.

Dick Knight, please explain where the money is going. This is not a criticism, it is a request for clarification.

Have you forgotten what we've spent on 2 Public Inquiries.

I would put this on the 'Ask the club' board but fear it will be deleted.
