I'm going out on a limb here... firstly obviously what happened was deeply insulting to the memory of the soldiers who gave their lives for us.
What I want to ask is this: Is the poppy burning our version of burning the flag in the USA?
Its not illegal to burn a poppy (Inciting hatred/violence however is another matter. The act of lighting up a poppy is not illegal). The same way as right now in the USA its not illegal to burn the flag.
Over the years various executives in the USA have tried to bring in the Flag Protection act and failed to get it through Congress. Would you make a law that banned the burning of poppies?
Not trying to start a binfest or anything. This is not a racial/religious issue but a question of if anyone did it.
