I'm guessing it's too much to expect this to work as well as Liverpool's 3-5-2 formation worked for a few months

Maybe being rested like Sterling was last year? Perhaps Hoghton wants to limit opportunities for other teams to scout him, therefore reducing interest in him. Perhaps Hehton doesn't rate him, or thinks he isn't needed when we play Kayal and Stephens. Who knows? I suspect Hewton knows.
