Did you watch any of that on BBC4 a few weeks ago.

All it was, was a camera on the front of a Kennet and Avon barge.
Occasionally facts about passing landmarks came towards 'you' in the water.

Completely mesmerising.

Superb stuff from Wiggins. If someone beats his distance soonish I think he might have another crack at it. I always thought it odd that he chose to do it in London rather than the faster track in Manchester, add in the high air pressure as well and it is possible he could get 56km if he was in the same form as he was for this attempt. Marginal gains and all that.

Can I take from that I'm not alone in thinking BW didn't 'put the record out of reach'.

Obviously it was an epic achievement, and fantastically done.
Plenty of people will fail to reach that mark.

But I couldn't help thinking aside from the Sky hyperbole (I know, I know) Dowsett, Martin & Cancellara have been left thinking 'hmmm ok'.
Instead of 'fook that'.
