They shouldn't have won though, because from what I could see their player definitely dived for the penalty, and had a 6 yard open goal chance fallen to anyone but M-iss-urray we'd have equalised. A VERY frustrating evening.

You really are a f***ing bellend, Murray had a fair game, won a lot in the air, excellent first touch and linked very well with Forster.

As for the penalty, it looked a good decision, their player was tripped, tried to keep on his feet as would have had a free shot on goal, but his momentum took him down, no complaints.

He hadn't got the ball as he'd already passed it, but these things happen.

The first half we were terrible, and only created one good chance. We were lucky it was only 1-0 at half time. Second half we came out all guns blazing and scored straight away. We then all over them for 20 mins, before giving away the penalty. After that we had a couple of chances to at least get a point. Maybe we didt deserve a win, but we could have easily won it.

Kuipers kept us in the game with a string of fine saves, and we were lucky to only be 1-0 down at half time. His timewasting was really winding me up, especially as we were trying to get some points.

Whing got injured early on and was caught out of position a lot. As for the pen, it looked like the attacker had already run past him before he went to ground

Elphick was at fault for the goal, and let Booth win pretty much every header in our area in the first half. Had a much better second half and changed his shirt about 3 times with blood.

Lynch was out of position a couple of times which lead to more headers by them won in our box. Again Booth was getting the better of him, but second half that changed. Did an amazing Cruyff turn on the edge of their box and took past a couple of players before being chopped down

Mayo played ok, but was caught out by long diagonal balls over the top of him to their winger. Still needs to work on his distribution though

Cox had a bad game, and for some reason decided he had to play 60 yard Hollywood long passes every time he got it, and with the exception of one, didn’t complete one of them.

El Abd played in all sorts of positions with Elphick keep on coming off, and the switch to the 3-3-4 formation. Was solid, but gave away a lot of fouls in some threatening areas.

Thomson did the dirty work well winning the ball back, but his passing was shocking last night.

Westlake did some great running, and lookied threatening dribbling at the defenders

Murray almost scored a goal of the season with a chest down and volley from 30 yards. He thought he scored with the late header, and fluffed a chance at the death, which fell to Gatting and he made more of a meal of it. He won the penalty after cutting inside the defender onto his left foot. Won some good flick ons too.

Forster ran about everywhere again, and was unlucky with a left foot effort in the first half. Hit the penalty really well after the weekend. He did do one of the worst dives ever when he tried to take it round their defender and knew he couldn’t get it!

Robinson didn’t do anything of note and Gatting should have scored in the final minute of injury time, but looked well off the pace. Fraser almost lost the game completely when he tried to turn an attacker when he was last man back, luckyily he made a great recovering tackle on te edge of our box.

Oh and how Frank Sinclair was allowed to stay on the pitch was beyond me. Got booked early on and everytime he fouled, the ref realised it was him and kept his cards in his pocket, even though some of the fouls were blatant yellow cards

It was weird seeing us play 3-3-4 for last 10 mins too.

agree with that - but had gatting done all of that AND missed that chance, that is all he would be remembered for in the game

murray is frustrating because he does everything you would expect of a striker who cost £300000 - except take chances. he should of at least made the keeper work with that opportunity

What exactly do people expect for £300k though, after all, we sold Wayne Henderson for half that sum? It equates to 1/100th of what Chelsea paid for Shevchenko.

Murray made one chance out of nothing when he volleyed from 30 yards, hit the bar/post, won the penalty, showed anticipation and ball control, put Forster through for a good chance, chased everything for 90 minutes, and yet still gets snide comments from the usual suspects.

But that is what makes him so frustrating, he is clearly a very good player, but he misses simple chances...

Chances that he generally creates himself, which other strikers (Forster excepted) aren't getting anywhere near.

I know he creates chances for himself, I didn't mention it directly but it was failry obvious from what I said. However not all of them he creates for himself (not that it makes any difference if he does), and it would be worrying if Forster was getting near them as the idea of a strike partnership is that they take up different positions rather than both go for the same ball.

This is what you said

Given that it was the ONLY thing you said about Murray, the conclusion most people would reach is that you are whining about him. It also ignores the fact that Gatting missed an even easier chance in the same move.

I parry your bellend and raise you a cocknocker

gattings wasnt easier - murray was centre of the goal, 6 yards out with no-one around him. gattings was at an angle to goal, with a defender shutting him down

Also, what exactly did Gatting do? I just remember the ball falling to Murray about six yards out and he completely missed it, but where did Gatting come into it? I remember him being there, but not what he did!

after Murray missed it, the ball fell to Gatting in even more space at the back post, all he had to do was tap it in, or take a touch and tap it in, but the ball went under his foot, and towards the side lines, and that was our last chance at saving a point
