Looking at Meydan today one EW stands out for me in the 4.30 Tannaaf at 16/1

Couple of possible minuses, its not the stables main runner in the race and De Kocks have tended to need a run in Meydan.

But it has gone in fresh and is an EW chance. Christophe souliman isn't riding in this race so it may not be no 2, its well drawn and also has entries for a couple of Group 2 races at Newmarket in a couple of months. Worth an EW punt at that price imo.

***THIS IS NOT A TIP***

But as I've nailed my colours to the mast on Geeks, and have made a bold prediction early on here, a guide to Stat's form is:-

Matteo Trentin riding well in Omloop Het Nieuwsblad tomorrow at about 40/1.

Omloop is the start of a series of similar races that ends with my bold prediction in 'the big one'.
So this is your guide as to which orifice I was talking out of way back when.

Had a tickle e/w at 40/1 1-2-3-4 (50/1 if you can bet with Spoylesports).

The first 5 words weren't me betting both sides.
There's no form, the races are large and uncontrollable, and the conditions make mechanical failure more likely.

There are half a dozen races before Flanders & Roubaix, (The Grand National & Gold Cup) by when we'll at least know who's going well, plus where my tipping is at.
As is though, these races now are the equivalent of the Autumn meetings at Cheltenham and Aintree.

That's not to say I've mugged you, Trentin is too good a rider for 40/1.
But he might have other aspirations later in the season and not be on form yet.
If he is on form he's more 10/1.

Been a bit of money for Tony Bloom's horse AACHEN in 3.25 at Donny, not a punt on the scale the last time it won though.

This runs again tomorrow at Doncaster in the Grimthorpe, up 5lbs and a tougher race than the last day. The one I like is NIGHT IN MILAN who I've also backed for the National as I follow the stable / jockey.

8ace you might have noticed your account hasn't been engulfed with money.

The theory was sound as 4 of our man's 8 rider team finished in the top 7.
(Made all the worse by the fact none of them won).

Sadly though in practise Trentin wasn't one of them.

Does it have to be the gee-gees?

Zdenek Stybar 16/1 - Paris Roubaix, 12.04.15.

He'll win because he's a course specialist, it's a specialist race, and he along with his team are hard as nails.
***UPDATE***

He's looking in very good form, and had an excellent win yesterday comfortably beating the Roubaix first and second favourites.
That's dropped him down to around 10/1 which isn't really value for a lottery event.
Although a couple of sites haven't caught up yet and are offering 14/1.

One more half decent performance, between now and April, and he'll be single figures /1 at which point there will be NO VALUE and he shouldn't be bet on.

The last race of the Cheltenham Festival today (17:15) is Tony McCoy's last race at the festival before he retires. The race has been renamed in his honour for one year only. He's riding NED BUNTLINE (currently 4/1). Jockeys have previous form for taking their foot off the gas on such auspicious occasions in a jockey's career and giving the jockey a one-off shoo-in. I daresay that at the fiercely-competitive Cheltenham Festival, aforesaid jockeys will be under pain of death from trainers and owners not to do so, but might be worth a small wager on them disobeying orders anyways...

***FINAL UPDATE*** (as the thread is here).

Pretty much all double figure odds on Stybar have now been taken.
I'm officially calling this 'wannabe coup' over there is no longer any value in the bet, for such a lottery event.

If anyone listened, took the 16's, I guarantee you have a solid 'bookie beating' bet.

Sorry chaps, after nearly 6 hours of racing our man sprinted into 2nd @ around 6/1.

Almost but no cigar (unless any e/w money went on)
