This is true for the Premier League. I don't think it is below the PL though, it's about what the clubs agree to in the loan deal.

You're right, this does not mean a lack of effort.

But everything about him suggests that he's a billy big bollocks who thinks that he's too good for us, that we should be begging him to play for us. He looks like he couldn't give a shit, so I couldn't give a shit if he leaves.

Correct. Shrewsbury f***ed up he admin, and he ended up playing against them and scoring (for Torquay). I think it might have even been a play off semi.
