Over there
The programme was shocking, not only with the facts and figures of how many inmates take drugs and are in u.s jails, but also the massive industry that sprung up around locking so many people up, all those privately owned jails that are being built, but what the programme didn't talk about was the forced labour the inmates do and the massive amount of profits it makes for big businesses and the U.S government, no surprise that it is described as the modern day slave trade. I remember hearing that around 600,000 to 1,000,000 prison inmates work huge shifts for next to no pay and makes the Government around $1.5 billion.
