I believe next season will be his final year on the bumper (c80-90k a week 5 year deal he signed)

He’s a local lad and financially I see him honouring the pay day before accepting the 1 year extensions the club offers him until they stop offering or the playing wages aren’t suitable for him anymore

Chelsea (his team) won’t come in for him now so see him staying put as the family’s settled

Indeed. An elephant in the room is something really obvious that nobody wants to talk about. When I saw the thread title, I assumed it was going to be about some sort of massive Albion taboo subject and went straight for it in very clickbaity fashion.

And then I opened it and found it was yet another thread about how much longer Lewis Dunk has at a high level
I saw the thread title and assumed a Penn & Teller trick had gone tragically wrong.

Oooh now there's a flashback to 1990s TV. That and Eurotrash. Different times. Different times.

I bought a good friend a beautifully sculptured elephant ornament years ago.
He just stuck it in the corner of his room somewhere! :(

We don't talk about it.

Dunk hasn’t become a bad player he’s not suited the the very high line Hurzeler insists on. If he had a stronger better tackling 8 in midfield and not Ayari it would make a huge difference. That would be Matt O’s natural position.

Lewis is too good not to have around, but possibly his fitness level is dropping slightly with age.
I think he will be a wonderful leader within the squad but likely to spend more time on the bench than previously.

JPvH and Webster (or Boscagli or another new defender) as starters with Lewis coming on as an impact sub when needed.
His passing range and vision remains excellent, and also his blocking and tackling.
Based on what I see with my eyes, it's just his speed that is slowly diminishing.
I'm not sure centre backs can be regarded as impact subs, can they?
