Rejoice people, only 19 days to go before we get to listen to a whole month of Poyet telling us he's going to sign the special one, a target man, before he fails to deliver and probably manages to sign another pointless crap centre midfielder instead.

Woooohoooooooooooo!:rave::goal:

Have you offered your services in scouting, budgeting, contract negotiations and other such necessities?

The club is clearly lacking in that department.

It's quite clear that BHAFC needs a positive influence to move on to the next level.

Show me a quote where he's said he IS going to buy a target man in a specific window.

Or are you talking shit again?

That Orlandi's shit isn't he?

BBC Sport - Brighton s Gus Poyet in hunt for a new striker

"We need a target man, a powerful player up front. We need that player. That is the main aim now."
He added: "We need someone who's going to help us when we need to avoid the midfield - when there are too many players [in midfield] or they are too deep.
"Situations happen during the season and when you play against teams that are massive, they need to give you a hand attacking or defending set plays."

He is highlighting the fact that he knows what he NEEDS, not that he IS going to sign one. Other teams are looking for similar players who have bigger budgets, or are more geographically better placed, but then you knew that, didn't you?

If he KNOWS what he NEEDS, then why did he not retain the services of a striker who is geographically placed in Preston Park?

The Football League | News | npower Championship | npower Championship news | Poyet: Still more to come from Seagulls
Brighton have scored 11 goals in their last three games but Poyet stressed he is not about to end his search to sign a new target man. He added: "I told the squad that I am still looking for a striker.

I think this is the best one (July 2012)
Football Football-league: Brighton boss Poyet frustrated in striker search | Radio talkSPORT
Poyet has been searching for a big striker all pre-season but admits it's a tough task.
He said: "It has been very difficult to find. There are not many and they are quite expensive - and the truth is we cannot afford them.
"We are going to be on the same budget as before, a bottom-half budget. There are going to be at least 12 teams who have more to spend than us."

August 2012 Barnes happy to play up front From The Argus)
Poyet is convinced he will get his man but said: “Other clubs want the same players and they can pay a bit more. I think we will have a striker for sure – somehow.

“The sooner the better because we need to work with him.”

Maybe if he'd put a ball and chain on him until he'd forced him with thumb screws to sign the new contract that was offered, then he could have retained him.

Or if he'd offered him the same money he's offered several of his crap signings

Quite.

And he'll probably have time to link himself to a managerial vacancy at some point as well.

Yeah because Poyet is turning down quality strikers on a daily basis just to piss us all off. Yeah it's frustrating to know that we could be one quality striker away from being a real top six contender but that's football. To be honest there are five or six clubs in this league that can say that so just enjoy the fact that for the second season running we are not going to be anywhere near the relegation zone.
