Ponting says it'll be a historic result either way and comes out with 'Australia are still trying to win this'. It's England that have been pushing all test for a result, Australia have just played slow and steady.

Why are they not taking the new ball FFS
I think it's because with so little purchase in this match, there is a risk it will come onto the bat quicker and travel faster.

EDIT: They're going for it now.

They'll need slips now though.
