It's simple have a few beers in the pub have a lunch before you get to the ground , most of us never bothered at Withdean with the whole pie & lager experience inside the ground . The club drummed it into us about the whole Amex experience of football with gourmet burgers(which they are not) & pies (seriously would you pay £4 for a pie on it's own anywhere else ) it was a novelty in the 1st season but is wearing thin it's like a trip to wembley you don't mind being ripped off once a year but 23 trips a season your not gonna keep forking out.

Agree with Mr Soprano.

If we were to get promoted then season tickets will be going up too. Isn't it better to break us in gently by putting up prices now?

I have no idea what I spent at FDM game. Bought expensive beer neer Victoria, bought quite expensive beer for train, bought an expensive pasty, bought beer in Dicks, bought half time beer, bought delicious Spicy dutch meatball pie, bought beers for journey back, bought beer in hackney pub, bought lamb stew from turkish restaurant. No idea what anything cost except that it totalled whatever was in my wallet when I left.

If it was all about cost effectiveness I'd have sent Kuipers a thankyou card and a postal order for 50p.

Season tickets went up this season.

I paid £95 for a coach to take me from southwick to the Amex & now because nobody that went by train last season could be bothered to buy a ticket the cost of a season ticket increased by £30

Yes they did, like I say, breaking us in gently. Wait for the big rise when we go up and watch all the moaning on here.

what do you mean piss off you muppet someone is making a point we are in a time where money is short they have already put transport costs on to season tickets when some people dont need it and putting food and drink prices up is starting to take the piss

Here's Albion's first competitive clash at the Amex against European Champions Chelsea. Quotes from Gus, Liam Bridcutt and Roberto Di Matteo...

Seriously could you have not used the 19 page food cost etc thread.

Another "look at me" thread zzzz

Of course but it's not just about food & drink prices.

It's about the logistics of our club

The Amex is a logistical nightmare to attend.
The train station is ill equipped to cater for such a large venue there is limited car parking so the vast majority of supporters use coaches & buses.

To make homeward travel easier for fans the club encouraged fans to stay behind after the game to have a drink or something to eat thus staggering the use of public transport.A good idea

With this season having an extra 6000 supporters to entertain I would have thought that the club would have made an even greater effort to encourage fans to delay their journey home rather than increasing the prices & reducing the menu like they have done.

Yeh but you have choice on the food and drink, if you think it costs too much then don't purchase it. It is not a quiz and I think your man Huge has a point re pissing off to be fair!

I didn't go to withdean that often.I only went to every home game for 5 years on the trot.

The point I'm making is with 6000 extra seats this season surely they should be encouraging fans to stay behind after the game to ease the transport congestion rather than putting them off

How many people won't want to pay the extra 30p or whatever and would rather queue longer for trains? Are people really that cash strapped ?

Then don't buy the food and drink simple. You don't have to.

My point is that there's a lot of whining and moaning that goes on when only two years back we were playing football in a pretty poor school sports ground. Get over it and enjoy the Amex.
