With not much on-pitch chit-chat to be had regarding the Albion, this Saturday's show will be given over to a (hopefully) informative discussion of various security and safety issues at Withdean, Falmer and other football grounds. This is especially pertinent in the light of the incident which took place at Withdean after the Walsall match.

To that end, Richard Hebberd (Albion Operations Manager) and PC Darren Balkham (Football Liaison Officer with Sussex Police) have agreed to come in and talk about their roles, and to answer questions, hopefully clarifying various points and procedures, and leaving supporters with a better idea of a variety of issues.

We will NOT be discussing Steve (The Mouth's) particular case, though obviously some reference may be made to it.

If you have any questions you wish to raise with either guest, or have any suggestions to improve the experience at Withdean with regards to stewarding or safety, please leave them here on this thread. We will do our best to get through as many as possible - though we can't promise to be able to read out all of them.

Abusive comment will of course be ignored, as will abusive questions.

You can listen live on 97.2FM in Brighton & Hove on Saturday from 12pm til 1pm, or at radioreverb.com on the internet. You can also listen later on the albionroar.co.uk website or on iTunes.

Cheers.

One fan persistently stands up and he/she gets thrown out for breaking the regulations as this can be achieved relatively easily. One thousand fans persistently stand up and they are allowed to do so as attempting to eject them in accordance with the regulations would cause the situation to escalate and in all probability couldn't be achieved.

Is that an accurate summing up of the unofficial, de facto approach to dealing with persistent standing?

Sounds like an idea for a protest on Saturday to me.

Can you ask why at Hillsborough around 1000 Brighton fans were allowed to stand, sing and generally enjoy themselves along with the majority of Wednesday fans who generated the best atmosphere at a ground I have seen for a long time without the interference of stewards, and yet every week at Withdean heavy handed stewarding and lack of common sense leads to no atmosphere and generally putting people off watching Brighton.

top guest work!

could you ask them to justify their mean spirited overly-proactive approach to stewarding please, in light of the fact that withers is an incident free zone most home matches.

Can you ask why you can be ejected for foul and abusive language as a fan but not when committing the same offence as a player when on the pitch ?

Will homophobia and persistent standing in the away end be dealt with in a similar way to standing and shouting comments which may or may not be offensive in the South Stand?

Also, will the club provide clarification on any dress code for stewards and response stewards? Are the wearing of such items as leather gloves and combat trousers encouraged?

Abort, retry, fail
For the love of god I had thought we had done that to death

I am pretty certain that we buy a ticket and the terms and conditions state that we should refrain from foul and abusive language etc. Whereas the players are under the jurisdiction of the referee and it is up to him to penalise for foul and abusive language.

What football teams do they support and does the football game ever distract them.

Whats the wierdest thing that has ever had to do as part of the job.

Because the off-pitch stewards do their job (albeit over-zealously at times) and the on-pitch 'stewards' don't.
