Shame Goosen dropped that shot on the last, but theres not a golfer out there today who wouldn't settle on being in the clubhouse at +1. Hopefully Choi can hold it together over the last few holes as well, he's handily placed on +1 as well right now.

As they say: you can't win the Open on the first day - but you can certainly LOSE it.

Sandy Lyle - what a disgrace. He just quit. Had a bad first few holes, and walked off after 10. And this from a man who wants to be Ryder Cup captain.

I blame Andy Murray and the whole Scottish nation.

Lyle is a disgrace to his profession. Walking off because he's wet, pissed off and playing shit. f*** off home and don't come back then, you tartan-clad skirtwearing haggis-munching jocko prat.

Not a good day for my lot Today:blush: Jim Furyk is my main hope on +1. Only saw 1 shot of his all day which was a tap in on the last. He's made to play grinding golf and with an early start Tomorrow I expect him to be right up there come lunchtime. Brandt Snedeker had a brilliant back 9 of -3 to finish 2 over and in contention.

Very disappointing rounds from Ogilvy(77), Romero(77) and Mahan(80) this morning followed up by average rounds by Cabrera(77), Cink(75) and Hansen (75).

Was pretty brutal out there, especially in the morning, but these boys are wrapped in cotton wool so no sympathy from me. Tomorrow looks less windy in the morning so Todays late starters look like having an advantage as they are out early Tomorrow.

Well Jimenez certainly blew up SPECTACULARLY today

Overnight he was handily placed at +2. The frizzy ginger GIMP has clearly gone out there BLINDFOLDED today though, and carded a monstrous 12 over par 82 to leave him at +14. Perhaps he's BUSY tomorrow, or something. At least he didn't FLOUNCE OFF like that scottish quitter though.

My hopes now rest with Choi (currently +2) and Goosen (+3) to finish in the top 7.

Good round from Jim Furyk again Today and the 9/1 still available looks outstanding value to me. The afternoon starters are going backwards now and there's not much to be feared in those around him from the morning starters.

Monty just about to go bang:laugh:

Good to see Monty (Oh yes, I'm Scottish me. Rath-errr, don't you know, what-what) roaring down the field as usual. 5 over for the round after 5 holes - one more and he'll miss the cut...

An outstanding value bet Today is Ben Curtis to beat Phil Mickelson at 9/4 with Ladbrokes. With the weather being shite up there Mickelson just wont handle the conditions. Curtis started 7-6 on Thursday and has played the last 34 holes in 2 over par. Mickelson had a good 68 yesterday in good conditions, which he wont get Today. I expect Curtis to win and the price is just baffling - get on.

Well done Ben:D Level par in those conditions is brilliant. Beat Mickelson by 6:D

Its brutal out there now and +5 could easily be the leading score after Today.

Brutal out there this afternoon and the leaders weren't helped by a 25 minute delay on the 10 the tee. Furyk birdied 8 & 9 and then went double bogey, bogey, bogey, par double bogey:down:

Greg Norman has a 2 shot lead walking down the last - who would have thought that????

We still might get a British winner, I hope the weather deteriorates tomorrow.
