Never saw a lads holiday on Phi Phi Don but the reverse. It's a mixture and defiantly not a lads piss up. Ko Samui is for that kind of things.

I think it must depend on when you go. When I went it was full of pissed up aussies, that was mid jan a couple of years ago.

*Edit* I'm not trying to put anyone off because it's an amazing place and there are quieter parts, but in peak season they do cram everyone onto a small island and it does get rammed!

I visited Phi Phi beginning of October for 2 weeks and that was 5 years ago. Saying that things change so you could be right but when I visited it was nice and peaceful.

No it doesn't. You'll need to get a train from Thonburi station in Bangkok and they run twice daily and if you are thinking of spending a couple of days there then get the early train which is around midday I think.

I rekon that's it, I actually said to my missus at the time that I'd like to go back in low season when it was less busy, that was in 2010 so not long after you. Mid Jan is as busy as it gets in Thailand.
