To right, probably get a £50 fine, paid for out of there benefits, and sent on a holiday to Narnia or whatever it is they come from.

All the real ignorance and prejudice coming out in this thread, then.

And I don't just mean this post.

Why is this happening? And is it morally correct that our news is being censored in this way?

Or what probably happened is the jury were sworn, and than the trial adjourned for various legal arguments and applications which are not evidence and so the jury don't get to hear them, before it actually begun this week with the calling of evidence.

Seeing the footage on the news it is pleasing to see he would not known much about it. The speed the car hit him from behind rendered him unconscious. Poor fella bring back the noose for this one.

Absolutely correct.

Also pleased to see the story no longer being hidden away.

They will get life imprisonment anyway. Only idiots want them to face capital punishment - the 2 guys who did it would be Martyrs for Al-Queda and in the Middle East and thats what they want.

Their lives will be made a living nightmare in prison, they have already been assaulted by prison guards remember - they wont even be able to let them near other inmate either as they will certainly kill them. Id rather they were locked up and face a living hell for the rest of their lives.

From the trial, it is somewhat better to know that he might not have been conscious whilst the attack was taking place and that he didnt see what was coming - hopefully this means he felt none of the what would have been horrific pain from the injuries - being hit by the car could be enough to kill you anyway.

they are in belmarsh where they will be heroes or at least top of the tree. i dont know where people get this idea that they will be set upon apart from old school screws - they have guaranteed themselves hero status in jail. where do you think they converted in the first place? after run ins with the criminal justice system - this is the most frightening thing, the lack of awareness amongst the british general public of the culture that got these lads to this point in the first place.

militant islam is a firm in british jails and its coming out on top. you think they are going to get 'bummed' or 'battered'? the opposite is true, they will strut around the place.

Life imprisonment in isolation would seem the most suitable punishment. Zero exposure to any human contact ever again without anything materially capable of being used to harm themselves as an easy way out.

Capital punishment is never the answer.

What is the defence case going to argue for ?

Jihad, Holy War. Allah told them to do it and as such they are not responsible. It was their duty.

I've come back home.

Oh my word is there nothing people won't try and twist and turn for their own agenda? A man was murdered on the streets of London by two self proclaimed terrorists. Why can't people just accept the facts and not try and find a red under every bed.

British justice may have it's faults and frailties, but everything will be done to make the trial as unbiased and transparent as possible. They will get their chance in court and they will serve their time. For all it's failings and sometimes lenient sentences I would rather have our form of justice rather than a lynch mob or the "stitch ups " contrived by other governments.

The death penalty is a subject for another time but be reminded that the offenders in this case WANT to die, and die as "martyrs " so, if the death penalty was in place they would be getting exactly what they wanted. Would that be justice ?

Are you really surprised ? Also bear in mind the two accused will not get life.

The courts aren't allowed to give life anymore as it infringes their human rights. They'll get 40 years tops. Just look at the judges remarks on Thursday when he sentenced that Chinese man who butchered that family of 4. He got 40 years as the Judge said he's not allowed to give life.
