I'd agree with your 1 and 2 purely for flaaair and getting some excitement and hope back, but I'd put Hinsh in at 3 and the rest of 'em can f*** off as they are dull dull dull

Tilson
Dowie
Calderwood
Southgate

The others have no record whatsoever and so I can't comment on how good they will be. A name does not make a good manager

why is Poyet top of so many people's lists? Got a record as coach but so did Wilkins (who I think was doing a good job but that is a different matter).

In terms of scanning best, 'Ole Solskjaer's Blue and White Army' has the best ring to it, along with 'Ole's going to Wembley, his knees have gone quite trembly' so on that score alone he gets my vote.

Really don't get this Poyet and Solskjaer shit. Just cos they're foreign everyone seems to be wetting themselves

Nothing to do with that for me. Both have played at the highest level and will have picked up some things from their playing careers that could help our boys. Both have good links with clubs in the Prem that could lend us a few players if we need them. Both have good links that could help us buy players. Both are reasonably young and looking to succeed.

Of the other names none of them have achieved anything so far, in longer managerial careers, so why should we get excited about any of them?

The fact that Fergie gave Solskjaer the reserve team job at Man Utd suggests that there is something to him as a coach. Fergie doesn't employ idiots.

Ole would have tremendous contacts within the game and I think he'd also be a big enough name to be able to persuade players who wouldn't normally think about playing for us that we are worth coming too. He might well need a more experienced number 2 to assist him but an appointment like Solskjaer would say a lot about Blooms intentions.

Poyet was considered to be the real coaching talent in the Wise and Poyet partnership. He'd again have good links in the game and be another statement about Blooms intentions.

Those two would be tied as my first choice unless Alan Curbishley suddenly said come and get me to us.

"Hmmm - now what should I choose - I live in Manchester and have a career managing the reserve team of probably the most famous club in the world - I have been here for a long time and my wife and children are settled and I enjoy it here. Should I stay or should I go to the South coast to manage a third division club languishing in the relegation places in that division. I won't have very much money to either live on or to spend on players and I am likely to be got rid of if this, my first job in senior management in this country, goes tits up. Well it's a toughie certainly ! "

I don't see it like that at all. I'd have thought he'd be one of the many applicants expressing their interest, on the off chance that we'd be willing to take a punt on a manager with very little experience. Giving him his break into full-time management 'n all that.

Why would he even have applied then ?

Why would he even have applied then ?

This is from the Argus :

" Former Manchester United and Norwegian striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is also thought to have expressed an interest.

He is currently in charge of the reserves at Old Trafford but lacks the experience of the other leading contenders and would be more of a gamble
. "

Doesn't say he's applied - he's "THOUGHT to have expressed an interest"
Big difference
