I genuinely believe that having Hawkins in the line-up is a better option than Virgo at the moment. I am SHOCKED with myself.

Surely back to 4-4-2 and not this 4-3-3 bollocks.
We haven't played 4-3-3, not for one single minute. We've played 4-4-2 with Forster on the right wing, until we went 2-0 down today when we played 4-4-2 with Andrew on the left wing.

Oops. My bad, I thought that Forster was on the right wing of up top.

There is enough quality in that starting XI to get the job done and take us to Wembley.

I
think most of the team picks itself due to injuries and being cup tied.

Sullivan/Kuipers could be either.

Right back Whing if fit if not El Abd
Central 2 from 4 I would go with Elphick and Virgo
Left back Livermore
Wide men 2 from 3 for me Birchall and Cox start
Centre Midfield Jarrett and El Abd holding if Whing fit if not Fraser,
Strikers Forster and Andrew.

Has to be:
Kuipers/Sullivan
Whing Elphick Hinshelwood Livermore
Birchall Jarrett Fraser Cox
Forster Andrew

But the recent team selections suggest it will be
Kuipers/Sullivan
Virgo El-Abd Hawkins Mayo
Birchall Jarrett Fraser Cox
Forster
Andrew

This is probably the correct answer. The only concern is El Abd at left back given that he has no left foot. Might be tempted to play Livermore at LB, and bring Fraser into midfield (I thought he played well when he come on yesterday and looks better on the ball than he has done previously).

I like Virgo but he is never a full back and to be quite honest he needs a rest as for Hawkins he played OK until his hernia Op and was bought back to early.

After yesterdays performance he should be the first name on the team sheet as central defender. Unless of course you didnt go yesterday to witness his performance when he moved into the centre of the defence

agreed .....but I do think he needs a rest

Mayo is injured with a suspected hernia. In any case, he shouldn't be allowed anywhere NEAR the first team squad again.
I didn't know he was injured when I posted that. However I'd still say a fit Mayo is a better leftback than El-Abd, and maybe Livermore.
