Following on from some film threads and the recent release of Kill Bill i thought i'd voice my opinions on Tarantino movies.1 is my fave 4 is the least liked.
1.Reservior Dogs-Classic film,so simple but so effective. They must have used about 3 sets for the whole film but it still looks so effective. You can tell this film had an impact when you see Harvey Keitel and a load of fairly unknown actors shoot back (Harvey Keitel) and into (Buscemi,Roth,Madsen) the spotlight.
Classic quotes,
"Why do i have to be Mr.Pink?-Buscemi
"All you can do is pray for a quick death, which, you ain't gonna get"-Madsen
"Larry,Larry,I'm a cop,I'm sorry Larry i'm a cop *bang*"-Roth
2.Kill Bill-Legendary status i feel for this two part epic.Thurman is great and the fight scenes,if a little unbelievable, are amazing. There also seems to be a fair amount that we haven't really heard about in the first film inferring the plot will be even thicker in the second part.Good cast as well with Thurman,Carradine,Hannah,Madsen really taking it to you.
3.Jackie Brown-Heavily underrated film i feel.Cleverly cast with Pam Grier,Samuel L. Jackson and Robert DeNiro the main stars but cameos from other famous faces such as Bridgette Fonda and Michael Keaton help the story along immensly.Clever plot originally adapted from a book which is probably why it is not particularly like Tarantino's other films.Still good though.
4.Pulp Fiction-Now just because this is my least fave doesn't mean to say it's not good because it is.Again packed with stars like Bruce Willis,Samuel L. Jackson and John Travolta the plot leaps back and forth through time. Now although it is cleverly done you do occasionally find yourself thinking isn't he dead or has that happened yet or not which is a little confusing.Good but not,IMHO,his best.
