Take over at Palace

That may be true but we have consistently outsold palace for more than two years now. One of which they were promoted in and even now they are in the promised land they are still getting less of a crowd than us. Their hope must be to mobilize local support as currently about half their fans are traveling in from the leafy parts of Surrey and from further afield in Sussex and Kent. Unless they can do that, they will have no hope of attracting larger crowds. It's one area I actually feel a little sorry for them. Let's face it, the premier league has homogenized the English football fan and now the county is full of plastics. Most (but not all!) Palace fans are genuine as is the case with us. A new stadium may help attract those new supporters.

This.

When people talk about a 40k stadium for Palace, are they referring to a new stadium or how much Smellhurst is worth?

Surely Palace wouldn't want a 40k capacity stadium? Wouldn't there be plastics there if they filled it? Or would that then be ok?

Interesting idea. I'd reckon Palace would be good value at the moment. Only problem is if they don't get it sorted in the next couple of months Palace will be pretty much be nailed on for demotion at the current trajectory.

I really cannot see anyone (even managerless Sunderland) who is as shit as them. The money would need to come in before the January window or it's bye bye CPFC.

The way you look at this sort of rumour very much depends on how you regard the modern game.

If your definition of success is attracting funny foreign money and buying your way into the big league, alienating fans along the way and becoming just another premier league franchise, I imagine it could be fun while it lasts. And it may not last long.

If you're more interested in supporting a club that's owned by fans (or A fan) and which is more about reflecting the community in which it's based than winning over new supporters in Asia, you might have to settle for life outside the Premier League. I'm happy with the second option myself.

Spot on, Wouldn't want a foreign owner even if they were super rich. Just look at that clown who runs Cardiff, No thanks.

Both Brighton with Bloom and Palace with 2010 are very lucky, Lets hope it stays that way.

My money is still on a merger of Palace with QPR

Playing at Loftus Road (no need for a new stadium)
Rebranded as Queens Crystal Palace

Shows how screwed up the state of football is when to compete seriously in the top division you almost always need a foreign owner.

I've always thought that if I had "loads of money" how much more fun it would be to start from scratch.

Choose a town I like, build a new stadium and other facilities and start right from the bottom - either by buying a team in a local league or starting a new team and "persuading" a local league to invite you.

How much more satisfying it would then be to see the money you spend elevating you through the leagues. Pipe dream I know but rather fun.

I think that too, if I won euro millions id buy worthing fc
