That doesn't make him a democrat.
Democracy respects the right of every individual to participate in the political process. Fascism doesn't. It demands a strong state above everything else.
As Mussolini said ... “The keystone of the Fascist doctrine is its conception of the State, of its essence, its functions, and its aims. For Fascism the State is absolute. Individuals and groups are relative.”
Yeah - but the point is that anti-democratic forces can gain power by democratic means!
