Is the correct answer.
You could well be correct but I've heard different from a journalist I know very well.

Maybe some truth to your side I'm not aware of, but I heard we stripped the captaincy to give to Phil Salt to try and get him to stay. Turned out he didn't want the captaincy and decided he was already off.

Either way I'm happy I don't think either would happen under the current set up.

What you’ve been told has an element of truth but Phil had already done a deal with Lancashire before that offer was put on the table.

Ben Brown obviously got wind and wasn’t happy but discussions were already going on behind the scenes to replace him at the end of the season due to his attitude and behaviour towards the younger players within the first team setup.

He basically jumped before he was pushed.

It’s been a massive culture change and step up in standards since those days. Farby runs a tight ship and has the full support of the board and most importantly the players now.

Was that the Salisbury / kirtley era ? Salisbury came across as a genuine guy but out of his depth. It’s a different club now.

I think Brown very much hitched his star to Gillespie's wagon. Brown was one of his favourites and Michael Burgess in particular wasn't given a fair shake.

When the divisive and unpopular Australian jumped ship, Brown was left exposed and the writing was on the wall for him.

I'm told that the club has become a much happier place to be over the last two seasons. No more factions and claques. Jon Filby and Farbrace deserve credit for that.

I don't follow other counties so can't comment on the strength of their teams, but what do we reckon of Sussex for the blast this year?

Fair to say we probably over performed last year, and Hughes will have a hard to job to be competition top run scorer again.
T20 is an absolute lottery. Eleven different winners since 2010. So the answer is as good as anyone and no better than anyone. Except for Derbyshire, perhaps.

Sussex quoted as 7/1 third favourites in the South Group behind Surrey and Somerset. That feels about right. I, too, was surprised how well we did in this competition last year.

Dan Hughes missed the Hants game as his wife was due to give birth. She has and Farbrace expects him back.

Hughes and McAndrew are the O/S albeit I believe we've also registered Gurinder Sandhu. Seamer, so imagine he'd only play if McAndrew was absent.

Hopefully Robinson is fit. He was a bit of a white ball revalation last year.

Brad Currie should be available for this one but Cricket Scotland have a number of CWC qualifiers in June.

If the team fires, we've a fair chance of the QF, IMO.
