Had a very palatable roast dinner at The George in Goring last Sunday . Very busy, had to wait about 45 mins for a table

Just dug this up for a Sunday roast and everybody seems to rate the Hove Bowls Club where is it and is it still good. I ant to take wife and youngest son and his wife as it is birthday and want some where reasonable ,better than the Sportmsman which he goes to a lot of the time if his partner cant be bothered to cook.

What about The Chalk Pit in Lewes any further views

I've done 20 Sunday roasts so far this year. In Sussex, as an overall winner, I would probably go for The Ram near Lewes, although you would struggle to go wrong with most of the country pubs round Sussex. At the risk of not sounding too discerning I would also say I haven't had a bad one in Brighton, but the best would probably be The Earth and Stars for the quality of the cooking and a triffic range of veg. Other good ones have been The Lion and Lobster and almost everywhere round Hanover. I'm veggie though. But all the meaties I hang aht with have enjoyed it as well.
