fancy ! pinching a picture off Wikipedia ?.. I'm doubting your sincerity now !

:lolol: First one that came up on the 'large size'. Difficult to find them at a reasonable price. Pack of six, in Southfields, was £8.99 which I thought was a tad pricy.

I miss 'Classic Wine and Beer' on Cowley Road, Oxford. Beers from all over the world, at dirt cheap prices, as they had passed their 'use by date', but still perfectly drunkable (sic).

let me guess, out of date 17/05/06 ?

I'm going to speed chill and drink a Westmalle Tripel now in the freezer to maintain my cred

They did have bottles of 'Vodka' that were bottled in Bombay in the latter part of the 80s, so we are talking about 12 years old plus (at the time of drinking). £1.50 a litre was perfect for the hockey initiation - just make sure your health insurance is up-to-date and don't get any in your eyes.

Dark Star now have Meltdown, a lovely, spicey ale with a dash of ginger.

Had a couple of their APA`s last night. Bloody nice at this time of year.
Come to think of it, they`re bloody nice any time of the year.

Seriously Wheat Beer is the stuff for me, Morrison's in Seaford is doing Erdinger Weizen at £3 for two bottles.

I was tempted but I plumped for the Piddle in the Hole at only £1 a bottle. :drink:

A quick bounce, as I have just seriously enjoyed my bottle of Ballards Nyewood Gold.
Proving there's more than 1 brewery in Sussex!.

I'm sure I once quaffed a pint or two of Ballard's Best .. Am I looking back with a cloudy focus or with reminiscence ?

Since this has been bounced, may as well add a shameless plug for a book published by a friend of mine - it makes the perfect summer drinking companion if you're out in London and wanting to try somewhere different:

Books About Beer | Around London in 80 Beers

You know it makes sense.

Brewed a mere stone's throw from where I sit right now (Portland, Oregon):

I do miss this though.. especially when it's 36C outside:

Just quaffed a Fullers Honeydew.... it's a bit insipid and does nothing for me. In fact, the Golden Glory outscores it on almost all aspects except % proof. This is a bit depressing as I do like Pride and ESB.

Always had that down as a poor mans Waggledance. Which when you look at some of the other beers, just mentioned here, isn't the biggest compliment you can give.

:bounce: x2

Tonight I shall mostly be drinking White Wing, from the Hammerpot brewery, Arundel.

I shall report back later.

(I do understand that it's no longer summer, but it is/should be a summer beer)

:bounce::bounce::bounce:

Apologise to the bounce police, esp as this is my third offence on the same thread.

But last night I had a slurp of Sunburst, by The Dark Star brewery, and it was great.
Sadly I doubt it will be hot enough, any time soon, to properly enjoy this very light and fruity beer.

But for hot bbq days I doubt this beer could be beaten.

Can never get into these "summer" beers. I'd rather have a decent pint of the usual.

But surely DD with the sun beating down sometimes a little drop of the usual, is just to 'heavy'.

Admittedly brewing a beer, for this Wednesday, only, seems a little extreme.

I think Sunburst would be almost impossible to drink and enjoy, other than in a hot garden. But then and only then you would drink barrels of the stuff.
