Roque Santa cruz could be a possible target so I'm told, man city outcast been on loan last year to Real Betis they are looking to make deal permanent but can't agree terms while other clubs are showing an interest £90,000 a week obviously to high for us but a deal could be on the table , as he could be a free transfer to get him off city's wage bill

We spent that last summer, so it wouldnt be a problem - but that would be a big chunk of the budget and im not sold that Rhodes is the answer.

All this talk of him being the answer. We signed a certain striker from League 1 last summer who had scored loads of goals, yet didnt have a good season - its a big big risk and is it worth spending £5 Million at Championship level on a striker which isnt proven at this level ?

We signed TWO certain strikers who did well in league one ...

HI LADS, I WORK FOR A SOCCER TRANSFER WEBSITE WHICH HAS MANY TRUSTED SOURCES, CHOOSE TO BELIEVE ME OR NOT UR CHOICE...

WE DELIVERED MURPHY, OXLAIDE CHAMBO, GARY HOOPER, WAYNE BRIDGE, ZAMORA, CLAYTON DEALS B4 ANY LIVE SPORTS CHANNELS.

THE RUMOUR IS PICKING UP PACE AND THE RHODES TO BRIGHTON STORY IS VERY MUCH TRUE.

TOMOROW WHEN YOU RETURN FROM WORK, EXPECT HIM TO OF SIGNED FOR 5 MIL WITH HIGHLY RATED WILL HOSKINS BEING SWAPPED IN PART OF A DEAL WHICH COULD GROW IF THE GAIN PROMOTION.

As posted by someone on another thread

As if a "transfer website" would actually employ anybody. And who calls it Soccer? Just infantile bullshit.

I would be nervous if we did spunk £5mil on Rhodes. Granted, he is a very good player with great potential, but he is unproven at this level so would be a huge gamble. A gamble I would not really want us to take...

Just had a look on Down at the Mac and I have to say they are taking it well - which is to say they think we are bunch of twats! Mind you when our fans go on there bragging about how many pints of beer we sell at the Amex as proof that we have a legitimate claim to signing their prime asset you have to say that they've got a point!

The Soccer Sauce twitter account must surely be a Leeds fan to spend half the evening on a Huddersfield forum trying to justify the rumour and that alone makes the whole thing a wind-up for me.

I would love "Rhodes to Brighton" to be true - I actually think he would complement CMS - but on the basis of this particular "sauce" I am discounting it.

Over there
Inside information, the next two positions we seek to fill are centre mid and striker, but we are nowhere near finding the right person or reaching a deal, it could be some time so relax.......

I take Rhodes signing and alot of the other names mentioned on here with a pinch of salt but I don't think this is right seagullwedgee. Didn't Gus say we had 3 signings pretty much nailed on with a possible gem of a signing? Since then we've had bridge and Vicente (whatever contract he's signed)
So we should have at least a couple more signings in the very near future.

Rhodes has probably been linked to every club in the Championship and Premier Leage so no wonder the Huddersfield fans are taking it well, they have heard it all before about 20 times.

I wouldn't actually want us to sign Rhodes for £5 million if we had the option- far too much for a League One player. Think we've probably learnt not to take such massive punts after CMS. Would much rather take Simon Cox and he would cost nowhere near as much.
Huddersfield fans seem just as deluded as some of ours if they think he is still going to be there next season.

this..... we bought league 1's best scorer for 2.5 and he hasnt yet done it at this level. And another who scored freely in a shit Bristol Rovers team and didnt make it here...Yet

Then L1's next free scoring runaway success, Sam Baldock is bought by West Ham for an alleged 5 mill and he can't even get in their championship team.

and now Rhodes who has been sensational in L1??? its to big a gamble for that sort of cash.

Jason Roberts a proven Prem player came down a league and scored for fun, think we'd get better return on investement with an out of favour prem striker

The problem with forums is that a few individuals give the impression that we are all like this. Your right those threads on Huddersfield forum are embarrassing. Some of the people replying are not much better either.

Getting Rhodes would be brilliant, but I think it is way out of our league. However nothing surprises me anymore. I was shocked when we landed CMS. I was even more shocked when we landed Vicente, kuszak and then Bridge so anything is possible at this club. If any information starts appearing on the main newspaper websites then you can start believing there is something in this.

Any new player joining will look at the quality already here. It's not everyday you get to play alongside Vicente, Bridge, Kuszack.
