It says if I want ad free and full screen I need a free account. How can I disable the ads and get full screen? I have Ghostery and Ad Blocker running. If I turn them off I just get a screen full of ads which is not desirable.

Strange, I'm not getting that message and I've got adblock on. Make sure you're clicking on stream 49, not the one that loads when you click the link.
