I am pretty sure they sold out the away end because they have one of the bigger away followings in the division. I would guess bigger than ours on average.

Also, I actually think Adkins is a good manager. There season was MESSED before he took over.

Not really, they've dropped plenty of stupid unnecessary points since Pardew left

The ultimate f***-ups in this League have to be Peterboro shirley. 97 league oals scored, and only one team in the entire division has conceded more. Don't care what division they are in next season, they are nailed-on certainties for relegation. Cos they won't be able to retain or replace their goalscorers and they won't be able to GIVE away their alleged defenders.

Oh they'll do just fine, they get first pick on Man Us other players, I could probably get them promoted with those possibilities.

WHat we have is a manager. What you have is a dickhead. That is the real difference.
There you go again. It is blind irrational hatred combined with an irrational comment. To be honest, most people outside BHA are not overly enamoured with Gus Poyet this season - but you think he is wonderful. Everybody thinks their baby is the most beautiful ever to be born, when most of them look like bulldogs chewing a wasp.

What - a million times? LOL

Well you know what he meant. We weren't anywhere near our best today - and fair play you wanted it more and rightly so. I honestly didn't think your fans were very good today - you were a lot louder at Withers last yr?! Maybe it was nerves. Nobody can deny Southampton have cracking players though - That Llanna (sp) is def good enough for the prem.

Come on guys, have a bit of grace!

You can't possibly deny Saints are a good side at this level, time has proved us to be better but if they finish second, they will have achieved what they wanted. Adkins, while displaying twattish tendencies, is also clearly a decent manager, as he's got a team of expensive individuals playing together and in a great position to go up. Personally I found Poyet's post match comments today a little disappointing, would have liked him to rise above it- after all nothing changes for us, our season is over, our work done.

Thought Fonte was excellent and Lallana made a huge difference when he came on. He looks a top player. Can't really think of any others who stood out massively, but as a team they played pretty well. Davis should have done better with the goal and did nothing to dispel my belief that the L1 players were nuts to vote him the best keeper. Jaidi is little more than a big clogger who screwed up royally today, and who I suspect would be found out in the Championship. And Lambert had a bit of a mare, how he contrived to hit the post with that header I will never know

Anyway, I thought SCC deserved to win today, once they'd got one back, our players honestly looked like they'd got nothing left in the tank. No shame, they've been brilliant all season, and they get another party next week, but I bet they really can't wait for summer now though.

I think Gus possibly got the subs wrong today, Wood for Murray aside. Going down to one up front was never going to work. I don't know why he took Barnes off; despite what others might say, sides are not comfortable against him, and he and Murray have worked the best together of any pair. Was he worried Barnes was going to get in trouble? I don't know. One thing is for sure - Sandaza could not hold up a ball smothered in superglue and he it was who gave the ball away for SCC's second goal. Kish or Navarro should have come on for Sparrow, as SCC were walking through our midfield. Much as I can't stand the man, I have to admit Hammond bossed the midfield today. Having said that, if the officials had done their job properly, and awarded a penalty and sent off Davies (that was an assault, not a foul), the result could have been very different.

Davis got the ball first from where I was  Just like our defenders did when Lambert went down.

I would have put Sandaza on instead of Wood. Wood is not mobile enough to run the entire line on his own.

What, and Sinatra is?

The changes were unavoidable, Murray was injured and Barnes kept giving the ball away in the second half.

That's funny.

Because whenever you listen to national radio or TV shows they all sing Gus' prasies. Sure, people like you won't like him because he is clearly a million times better than what you have.

What you have is a physio who struck lucky with his home club, and then for some unknown reason Southampton appointed him manager. He was a one club, one trick pony, and with the squad you have, a retarded monkey could have had you promoted by now, yet under Adkins you are probably going to go into the last game of the season needing a win to be sure.

Theres no hatred towards Southampton. I just think you need to realise your not a big club anymore.

Your best players will probably move on over the summer, and if you keep Adkins, he'll probably take you back down, because as a man he has no class, and as a manager he has no clue, because if he did, you'd have been champions long before we were.

Theres no hatred from me towards Southampton, just pity about your future with probably one of the weakest managers in the football league.

nice thread about saints guys, some people have had sour grapes but hey we all have fans like that, we hope to have the last laugh next season and finish above you if we go up and prove were better next season, as you proved this season you were better over 40 odd games so you have the bragging rights good luck next season.

but on a note yes we had spent money but we had the poor start of the season on and off the pitch lallana are best player (as you may have noticed) has been injured are owner died and we sacked are manager after winning 4-1, so were happy to take 2nd place and join you in the championship promotion is promotion the title is always bonus.

Weakest manager in the football league? Do me a favour! He got Scunny promoted out of nothing, and while Saints should clearly have pissed this league given their wage bill, second is hardly a disgrace is it?

No matter how much of a twat he's been, you can't say he's useless, what does that make Les Parry, Peter Reid, Chris Powell, Gary Megson (another one with highly paid players) and so on.

What he is, is a great wind up merchant, a wannabe Fergie perhaps, obviously works as motivation for his players though. Well, most of the time, hence why we've won the league, but he gets it right more often than not.

NA has a better track recored then gus my friend i had my doubts about him but hes done well and the big club thing we still our a big club were just not a top club at the moment were a very well supported club we have had a 30,000 plus attendance 2 or 3 times this season in the league and looking at 28-32k for the last two home games, to me thats a big clubs attendance.

Some of our fans need to learn how to WIN gracefully.

Adkins is a talented manager. He has managed to get a Southampton team that Alan Pardew (current PREMIERSHIP manager) struggled to get the best out of on the verges of promotion.

Southampton are a good outfit with some very good players.
