I feel sorry for him but that is about it coaching may alright but passionless and not getting plan"A" over to the players + they all need shooting practice or shooting
that is all
thank you and goodnight

Come back when you can make an informed post of someone who has actually seen a Brighton game with Oscar as manager.

1) They are not his players
2) Poyet guided us to 10th with a squad not dissimilar to this in his first season

I just think it's too early to call. And after all, we're 8th, not 18th.

We're in 9th

Meh, whatever. Win our game in hand and we're in 7th and only on GD.

Can't see us getting to the playoffs tbh but I am excited about the future, if not this seasons end, although it would be good to be in with a chance until the end.

Part of me is wondering if this is a fishing post where you later come in with "I was talking about Moyes, you all need to get off Garcia's back"

something is desperately wrong
I like the man but he really does not cut the mustard
"I am not looking at the table"
well we are .......and you would not need to if we had won the games we should have won
the similar way Moyes and OG's season has gone is worth studying, both have reasonable squads that are equally goal shy both managers have very plausible excuses as to why things are not going right, both have the spectre of the previous manager hanging in the air like a bad smell, both have players in the squad who think they are the bee's knees but could not hit a cows arse with a banjo.
something must change other wise the slim hope we have of getting into the play-offs will be gone, if they all think that won't happen then start playing the DS now

I imagine Bloom is more far sighted than those who DEMAND promotion, he may have hoped for promotion but I doubt very much in his heart he expected it.
If I remember correctly when TB took charge of the club his five year plan was for Premiership after 5 years. He said he would like to be Championship in our first season at the Amex, which happened. So if he still thinks that is the plan, then next season should see us going for it in a big way. FFP permitting I suppose now.

We're a top ten club in a league where we're hardly the strongest team which isn't exactly awful.

Yes we've had some poor performances that can be laid at Garcia's feet (or Jones's if you subscribe to that theory) but what manager/club doesn't go through a rough patch over the season?

We've been winning ugly for most the season but we have been winning so, could he be seen as boring? Quite possibly. Out of his depth? I don't think so.

How many games have you been to this season?

Come back when you can make an informed post of someone who has actually seen a Brighton game with Oscar as manager.

As the thread was started by someone who, I gather, hasn't even been to a game this season it's not really worth a response.

Not sure why I bothered

better to look from the outside than watch the games with rose tinted glasses

If you don't have the right tools for the job, you will struggle to do the job.

If you sell some of those tools and don't replace them with equally good tools, you've got less of a chance to do the job.

If they weren't your tools in the first place, you're going to need time to either get used to them or replace them.

And until that happens, the job probably won't get done.

What about Jones taking some flack here.
Personally I would like to see what the club are going to do in the close season and give Oscar a pre season and up to next Christmas.
But if we win on Saturday everyone will be happy again anyway.
I think you have to look at form not rely on other results and the last two games have been poor you cannot do that at this stage of the season, so for that reason, unfortunately, I'm oot.
I like the championship anyway.

Ernest, Vulture, Kevtherev, Glasfryn are all in agreement that Garcia should go. That's all I need to know that Garcia's doing a good job.

I'm neither a staunch supporter nor a strong critic of Oscar, but what I would say is that I don't think there is any Championship manager who could get promotion with this squad.

I blame the club entirely for woeful squad planning and giving every other club in the division a two-month headstart on us last summer. It is the club who aren't serious about promotion, not Oscar. If Bloom/Barber/Burke wanted us to be genuine contenders this season we would have a squad that had more than one goalscorer in it (meaning we wouldn't resort to the likes of Buckley playing upfront when we are hit by just ONE injury) and players such as Andrews and Forster-Caskey would be nowhere to be seen. Seriously, ask yourself if Leicester or Burnley would want players like this. They wouldn't even get on their BENCH. That's how far behind we are, and that is not Oscar's fault.

By all means criticise the style and the lack of goals, but the guy can only work with the substandard tools he's been given.

A good, sensible post compared to most of the knee jerk tosh on here tonight. I think the club gambled on CMS and Hoskins being back by now, which should have been the case by now but for minor injury setbacks. The gamble may have backfired and left us short of striking options, as tonight obviously showed, but we are still in the mix and it will be far from a disaster if we dont make the play offs this season. Personally, I look forward to another season competing in the roller coaster Championship rather than the Predictorship.

What delusional bollocks

If you base your opinion on just what you see with your own eyes, thats fine, but it is still just one mans opinion. If instead you accumulate your information from everything you read, on everything everybody else says on here, then that becomes the overall opinion of thousands and certainly becomes more representative of the 'truth', or at least the true feeling of the fans.

You don't need to go to games at all for it to be perfectly obvious that our performances are disjointed and frustrating for the fans with no obvious solutions coming our way from Oscar. It is also obvious that many fans have had their expectations raised to too high a level and they should adopt a more realistic approach to a manager with next to no competitive managerial experience. He must be given time, the jury remains out on whether he will ever be capable, it is too early to judge that.
