Songs that bring a tear

Seriously this one does it for me...

Why I don't know except the "Mamas" had a sad time themselves. Mama Cass died, John split up the marriage of Nina and Frederick who were the archetypal 1960's MOR cool couple, they were both Danish aristocrats.

And THEY had done another famous weepie, "Puff the Magic Dragon.."

Who could forget that?

Johnny Cash - Hurt definitely one of them.
Standing outside the Fire - Garth Brooks can get me when in the right mood, as can
Travellin's Soldier - Dixie Chicks

Also an Elton John one about a fathers' love for his son but I can't remember what it's called.

Have you seen that full concert? It's called 'Stop Making Sense' and it's absolutely amazing.

I've just bought, and am now listening to, the full CD version. Cheers to you and Carrot Cruncher.

A Nightingale Sang in Berkley Square
Makes me think about war and the bloody utter waste of it all. And all the small personal tragedies and lives that were wrecked. Very touching song.
