Why? Two years ago, he was player of the tournament at the World Cup, and in the running for World Player of the Year.

Massive coup for Gala I've no doubt, I thought he would have gone to PSG or Man City or something

The Championship.
Looked like he was going to Liverpool BUT

A) Champions League football.
B) Champions of Turkey.

I don't think this has anything to do with money at all because there's no doubt Liverpool would of had him if it was.

Another one we've missed out on FFS. Next thing you'll be telling me is Danny Graham or Dick Van Dyke have opted to sign for Premier League teams. Sick of it. Gus out.

Jesus. Could have been a replacement for lampard at chelsea... could have been quality for arsenal or spurs or man utd or liverpool... could have been class at juve... could have gone to a nice country like portugal and played for porto... could have gone to PSG surely...

Why on earth Galatasary? Just crazy. Stupid move. They cannot have been the only club interested surely?

Galatasaray's offer has been on the table since the start of the window, it has been well documented. Sneijder was waiting for other offers to come in, the Liverpool link seemed desperate but even they didn't want to hid in the end so he only had Galatasaray. Nightmare move in my opinion, and a real shame. Hopefully he'll return to a civilised country before too long to ply his trade, he is much better than to be playing in Turkey.

Civilised country? You ever been to Istanbul? Didn't think so.

Going nowhere near it. Not a big deal, just my opinion. Berlin is more my style. I have no interest in trying to change opinions.

On topic, I'm suprised there wasn't more interest in Sneijder. I think he probably was too! Inter are going through a strange period at the moment, they seem quite keen on getting rid of good players in favour of less talented ones. Must be financial reasons behind it but I'm a bit suprised.

If he's so bloody good then why didn't he get a decent Inter Milan team into the Champions League last season? ???

Both Milan teams don't have much money at the mo so I heard somewhere. Pato left Milan and went to brazil. Saying that AC want balotelli for 25 million... Apparently...

Not sure how much money Juve have got. I can only imagine there's not much money in Italian football currently. It's not as good to watch so maybe the world agree with me on that and therefore the TV deals aren't there for them? The prem, German league and Spanish league is better to watch IMO.

Any Italian football lovers who can share there views?

Pato leaving Europe is a shame. Balotelli leaving England would be too. He's fantastic entertainment.

Calling a city such as Istanbul uncivilised when parts of it are essentially a rich man's playground is pretty ignorant. If I had money and had the choice of London/Manchester or Istanbul it would be a no brainer.

I called the country uncivilised, not a specific city.

What would make you choose Istanbul out of interest? I've never been there or to Turkey in fact.

What makes you think the country is uncivilised? I would appreciate an answer as I have seen more places devoid of civilisation in the UK than I have in Turkey, but perhaps you have been somewhere in Turkey that I haven't?

Let me ask you this, is there anywhere in the world you just don't like? You can't quite put your finger on it, but you just don't like it? Everything I know about Turkey makes me dislike it, irrationally maybe, but there it is. Again, it doesn't matter. At all, I just won't go there. Everyone's happy. There are a lot of places in the world I want to go, for a variety of reasons and with a variety of appealing reasons. I'll pass on Turkey, but I do know people who have been and enjoyed it.

Money talks. As does Champions League football.

It's actually a beautiful country and no more uncivilised than anywhere else. Never lived there so couldn't comment on the detail, but then again, I've never lived in Glasgow, but I assume it is civilised there.
