40 million Ake to City !
Solanke? Are you having a laugh? Totally useless.
Read what I posted again.
I said I think the club would be in for Solanke over going for Wilson and stated why I think that, not what I would do personally.
I'm definitely not suggesting that Solanke is a better player than Wilson and if you want a player to come in and do the business straight away then of course you would choose Wilson, but I've listed why I don't think the club will move for him.
I don't think Solanke is the answer, but we've been in for him before (just prior to Ashworth's arrival), Ashworth knows him through the England age groups and he just scored 3 goals in 7/8 games with a bit of confidence. So even if I had suggested we try and sign him I wouldn't exactly be having a laugh would I?
People are far too quick to write off players that don't do well for other teams, particularly young players that come through the ranks at big clubs as if they all entitled and don't deserve to make it. Take Calvert-Lewin a Sheffield Utd youngster as a comparison (he's a little older than Solanke). Up until this season Lewin had only scored 10 goals in 80 games in the Prem, with a higher ratio of starts than Solanke and while playing at a club challenging higher up the table. Not being an ex Liverpool, Chelsea, Utd boy I highly doubt anyone would have been so resistant had we tried to sign him at the start of this season (just gone), as to how resistant people would be to Solanke joining now? Also, low and behold, young striker starts more games (30 our of 36 available) and Lewin scores 10 plus goals and is talked about for England.
Personally, despite my rant, I hope there is better striker out there from a non-relegated team (probably abroad).![]()
Hernandez from Norwich cheers. Ability to show defenders a clean pair of (Cuban) heels!!
I've always like Doucoure. He even pops up with a few goals each season.
