Hand in the air shouting 'me me me'.
Best thing about Wolves was that I had 4 seats as the three people who normally sit next either side didn't turn up!

Yes. As a lad, was lucky enough to be at every single one of the Peter Taylor-Alan Mullery era, 30,000+ gates at a heaving Goldstone. Often thought there were many more there, as club owners in those days beat the VAT man by not declaring the true terracing attendance.

Great times, and they are back again!

Charlton x2

Rochdale seemed to be the most rammed, looking on from the chicken run on the east there didn't seem to be a single space anywhere.

I remember the segregation being a bit vague for the first Charlton (77-78), remember a few bottles being luzzed back and forth between the north and north -east corner, think that was when the motor cycle bobbies with their crash helmets on used to form a line up the dividing fence. Don't think plods health & safety would allow that today!

a couple of people have made a similar post, i remember losing 3-2 at home to Wolves in the late 70's but would stake my house it was the 3rd Rd of The FA Cup. did we lose twice in the cup to them by this score?

Yes we did. We lost 3-2 at home to them in 1969 in the 3rd round of the League Cup (crowd of 32,539), and then we lost 3-2 to them again ten years later in 1979 in the 3rd round of the FA Cup (crowd of 25,217)

Same here.
Seem to recall that reports said there were another 3000 who couldn't get in that evening.John Templeman scored for us I think.........finished 1-1.We went up and Rochdale stayed up.Surprise surprise!
Say other 30,000 games but that one really stands out.

Dougan was rested. They played David Woodfield, normally a central defender, in the number 9 shirt and he scored. My main memory of the game is the North Stand goal festooned in toilet roll after each of our goals (from Alan Gilliver and Eddie Spearritt).

I've mentioned this before with no response but in one of these games Hugh Curran lobbed our keeper with a huge "up and under" from way out which landed almost on the goal line but then bounced safely up and over over the bar. Does anyone remember that?
