I'm not sure NISA and BEKO have obvious pronunciations. They're foreign brands and how the natives of the countries they're from pronounce them usually has little bearing on how we choose to pronounce them.

As for Amex, it's a portmanteau of American and Express, so it is correctly pronounced as it is written, AM-EX.

Only stupid people could possibly think it was pronounced anything other than Am-ex.

Palace fans who coined "Gaymex" are, consequently, on a massive Fail.

Poyet. According to the man himself is actually pronounced Poor-chet. I now await a flaming for getting this wrong!

It's more of a Por-hyet to be honest. A difficult sound to convey to the average native English speaker.

Either way, it definitely, positively ends in a "et", not an "ay", which makes it all the more annoying hearing people singing "Gus Poy-ay, my lord, Gus Poy-ay".

Hither (sometimes Thither)
There'll be a film out soon called The Descendants in which a 16 year old girl with a pottymouth is meant to shock the audience a little with her swearing. This is an American film so her use of the word T W A T makes it sound like T W O T and therefore to an English audience shocks in the incorrect way. Most of the film isn't about this girl, but i largely remember her and the accidental silliness of such pronunciation.
