Somerset may be getting Compton back to bolster their batting at this rate - another good knock from Root and Cook may have a new opening partner?

With his form I'm not sure he will do them any good ..as regards to opening for England I'm yet to be convinced

got 10/11 on a draw at betfair, last night
couldn't resist going fairly large at those odds, especially as could be a 3 day test match....

What has happened to our batting lineup? The away ashes 2011 line up was solid as a rock, especially the top 3, now they can barely scratch a century together. Don't think Compton is a test match batsman either personally.

Hate to give Tykes any credit but these pair have pulled us out of some trouble - Bairstow 50 and 100 partnership.

Root needs to move up the order and Compton dropped in my view

Interesting to note that the last 5 wickets to fall have been to catches behind the stumps and the last 3 to a swing bowler which augers well for us when they bat.

Should get a couple of days play as well, think this is a pitch made in heaven for the seamers
