There used to be a couple out there because in 2001 I remember them being involved with REMF and putting Albion memorabilia at Ground Zero.

Was one called Zig?

Saw the Calzaghe fight at "Turtle Bay" on second avenue - good sports bar on 3 levels with plenty of flat screens but lousy choice of beers. Saw USA v Argentina friendly at Giants Stadium - what did you think of the stadium. Great atmosphere when I was there, complete sell out not many Yanks but loads of Brits, Argentinians, Mexicans etc - no roof so reminded me a bit of Withers ! I think MLS has got a way to go in the States - Beckham has probably had some influence but I think it's the Latinos who will really drive it. One thing that pissed me off was having to show ID to get a beer. FSC is pretty good apart from the commentators and they do have the nightly Sky sports round up. PM me if you want a beer sometime.

Giants Stadium is pretty good and I can imagine a quality atmosphere when full

Mate of mine has Jets season tickets so hoping I can tag along one time and see the great Brett Farve

Dear KAM,
I'm off to NYC on Thursday. Headquarters for me is my mate Shaun's bar, Foleys, on 33rd street between 5th and 6th Avenue, literally next door to the Empire State Building. http://www.foleysny.com
He is a sports nut but mainly baseball poor lad. But he has shirts from all kinds of sport in there but mainly Football. Palace stuff is banned.
There is loads of Albion memorabilia in there, the best being the tribute area to my Sister Kathy who passed away 4 years ago. She was a big Albion fan.
Peter Ward is always in there when in NY and supposed to be meeting us in there on Saturday night but I think his wife Jakki won't let him out to play again as he was here in Brighton last week. But he might turn up.
So if you fancy meeting up, we'll all be in there on Friday around 5.30 onwards. My name's Mac.
Have you discovered Nevada Smith's yet for live Premier games? That's where you head early on a Saturday morning to catch the lunchtime game first, then the 3pm (10am) game and if you're still standing, stay for the 5pm (noon) game. That's where we'll be come Saturday at 7.30am. Nevada Smiths / Where Football is Religion / (212) 982-2591 3rd Ave and 12th St.

Hope to see you Friday maybe.

I don't live in NYC and have never been there. But this thread's given me a really nice warm glow inside. Thanks fellas, enjoy your beers!

PS Apparently America elected a black president last week. It might not have got as much coverage over there as it did here, so thought I'd let you know just in case......

Go to the Stout Bar (it's a football pub just opposite Maddison square gardens). There's another really decent footy pub in Greenwich village but I can't remember the name of it. NYRB fans congregate in these two bars and they're in the conference finals next week so they will be RAMMED.

Dear KAM,
Have you discovered Nevada Smith's yet for live Premier games?
That's the puppy.

I live down in Florida so can't easily join in with the Albion over the Big Apple bevvy session but at least there's someone else to be on NSC at odd hours now!

Have worked in NYC (well actually Jersey City) a couple of times but much prefer the South to be honest and not only for the weather.

Who do you work for? I'm with Merrill Lynch.

I am in NYC (I flew out of JFK this afternoon to San Fran) fairly often. I have been promising to get together with Lyndhurst for a while but I've been distracted. I am South Jersey, but if you boys choose a night, let me know and I will try to make it up.

Papajaff – I should be able to get to Foleys on Friday about 6pm. Will have the Albion centenary shirt - still reckon it’s the best. Foleys looks good from the link. Billy and Marlton – good to see you on-line. Should be able to sort out something with KAM and will keep you posted.

Eek! Some expat friends of mine live in Willamsburg, big Albion fans but not on NSC.
They live on Manhatten Ave. very near the Mark Bar if you know it?

I've worn the stripes to the shea (rip) many a time and was amazed how many people shouted SEAGULLS at me :lolol:

I'm back over late Jan/early Feb - lets meet up somewhere?

Just got back from a week in New York, included the Calzage Jones fight. First visit to NYC and absolutely loved it, already plannning going back again.
I know of at least one seagull living in Brooklyn cos he came in a pub i was in near madison sq garden on saturday night as he saw me in Albion shirt. 3 or 4 other people shouting out seagulls when they saw the shirt also in madsion square garden.
