Alas, it's the only way I can follow the Albion from over here, so will keep paying for the privilege.

While the service is poor, I think people on here like to exagerate how bad it actually is. For example when we were served up the Aldershot commentary, I just switched to the Donny Player commentary and listened there. Hardly the end of the world.

As long as people like you are happy to pay for a service that you aren't getting then nothing will be done, but never mind eh?

Paid for the year, at a discount, so no to cancelling. Will I sign up for it next year, that is different question. The club need to sort it out and also improve the website, how long is the contract the FL have with the website company

runs until 2017 I believe

How can we exaggerate the fact it simply did not work for pretty much the whole of the second half today?

I agree re website. I am a website designer so I feel that I can criticize with some knowledge on what a crap website that the club are tied in to. The people behind this are earning a pretty penny for not a lot of work. Then again, this happens in football, remember Emile Heskey?

If 10,000 fans use the Seagull Player the income from that is £360,000 each year. I would expect a proper service for that amount of cash and the provider should not get away with it.

There are three elements here, the first is the Radio Sussex commentary which the Club choose. Which is just about bearable, but could be a lot better. It's the constant cutting to find out what's happening to the other Sussex and Surrey league and non league clubs.
The second element is the lack of pushing the right button at the right time, which I believe is the responsibility of the third party that runs the website. The third is what appears to be the equipment or lack of bandwidths that they use. It's extremely amateurish and a bit tin pot.
We have a cutting edge Stadium a team that plays the most watchable football at the Club I have seen in sixty years of watching, a radio commentary when we aren't at the match in 2013 that is not that much of an improvement on ringing 8049.
Why oh why can't it be done in house.

Would someone be banned from doing their own running commentary on a live podcast? Are thoughts, feelings and musings illegal?

I do not think they would, if you have ever seen the results programme(cannot think of the name) on the BBC then Garth Crooks et al tell us exactly what is happening etc but do not and cannot show us any of the action.

... as, for example, Newport County do, with the involvement of Newport City Radio.

I have no idea if this is a relic of a deal done when they were in the Conference, or whether it's anything to do with being Welsh, but they manage to deliver commentary from every game, home and away, and a half-way decent 20 minutes video highlights show. All on a shoe-string budget and very basic equipment.

Yes. The whole site is very bad. For the most part items are pretty uninspiring, the "video" is very poor quality, and as the poll indicates, the intermittent commentary is frustrating. Our website at work is miles better and we are a MUCH smaller business than BHA.

There are so few interesting interviews with players and stuff. Someone needs to pull their finger out sharpish.

About time there were other options to player, its been unreliable for a long time. Pretty basic stuff, hardly leading edge technology...

Exactly this.

It's a terrible service and the only reason I spend any money on it its because it gives me access to the Albion.

If we ever go up I'll be dropping it like a stone and just relying on streams, which are, in many ways more reliable.

Did you try listening on the Wigan Player?
Shouldn't have to use another club's version of Player to listen. If other clubs can provide a decent service there is no excuse for The Albion failing on a weekly basis. And don't get me started about the highlights package we get in comparison to practically every other club.

Yes , even if it means having to watch Sky Sports updates instead of listening to the game.
Radio Sussex on DAB - never any probs there (apart from when Aspinall's on). I've always thought seagull player to be an overpriced rip off any way

I share the frustration, as it is always poor. But it's all I have apart from BBC or NSC to keep updated.BBC is often way behind NSC is usually ahead of player. So I will put up with it in the hope it will improve. (Bit like supporting the Albion quite a lot of the years I have followed them :))

You poll is missing folk like me that would fall in the "Not using SP as its crap, but would / might do in future if problems were resolved".

Your poll may reveal how many customers / consumers may be lost and the associated revenue if they choose to cancel but there may be others like me who are potential future customers / consumers to be gained and the associated revenue that would come with that.

I would do if there was an alternative for exiles. Yesterday kept dropping out before gradually fading in volume and failing. The internet provider can't be blamed as opposition club coverage still OK......
