Incommunicado
Fairlight Primary and Junior.
Then Moulsecoomb Senior.
Three teachers were bordering on being psychopathic there but I won't name them.
Used to get the cane regularly off a few including the then Headmaster who wacked me four times for fighting in the playground.
An older lad took our ball and kicked it into the Lewes road so I smacked him in the chops lol.

Mrs Dinsley
Miss Smith (****ing cow, made me stand in a corner with a dunce hat on because I thought it amusing to write with wobbly letters. Being on the spectrum meant 'subnormal' in the 60s.)

Mrs Young
Mr Oliver (a bit too touchy feely....)
Mr Stone (a genius. Told us about the Marie Celeste, lateral thinking and all sorts. Untied Diaries?)
Mr Slack

Mr Denby
Mr Hitchcock
Mr Brookes (let us play Rock Music in the music hut at lunch times, without ever mocking. Top man)
Mr Ross, best I teacher ever had. Inspired me for sure. And had the bottle to tell the class to wash their stinky bodies rather than stinking out the classroom.
We were then left to our own devices in the sixth form. B'stards. Possibly Dave Bennett took the occasional register.

Thanks for sending me that photo of you at school many years ago …were you considered big for your age?

My Dad and I did the plumbing at the Knoll from 1973 right up to when it closed.
We used to call it the borstal.
If I had to go back to the van for anything I would take a hammer with me for protection
Some highlights:
They set fire to the lagging in the roof space.
They nicked a ladder while we were on the roof.
They let the handbrake off on a painters van which crashed into the double doors in the playground.
They smashed the cubicles over time leading it looking like an open Roman communal bog.
:moo:

No joke i was there from 73 to 78.

Do you want your ladder back?

If memory serves it was The Bush ,(possibly the Mulberry Bush ) very embarrassing when the bigger lads went in there at dinner time to see the teachers, normally for the teachers .
