This news is great because it make the desicion for Sven easy to start with Hargreaves. No he's not as good, but at least he has a left foot and understands the job of the left midfielder.

Please explain when between last night and now did Hargreaves develop the ability to pass a ball with his left peg? All the time on the field last night he was like Scholes having to get the ball on to his right. The only one with the vague ability on his left is Joe Cole and that is still vague.

fair point, i realised after that he's not actually left footed at all. The difference is he goes into that position understanding what the job is: to get down the wing, link up with the left back, hopefully put a cross in sometimes, and defend/cover the wing from attack. Trevor Sinclair understood this in the World cup and done a sterling service. I think Hargreaves can too.
