I've often wondered why these "Billionaires" dont buy Lower League clubs and "do them up", as, although I dont agree with it, it would be more of a challenge. It was only a matter of time before a League 2 (or lower) team was "done up"

It has already been done before. Fayed at Fulham. Brought in Keegan and splashed loads of dosh, they shot up the leagues and have been in the Premier League ever since.

I remember when it was us and them propping up the 4th division not so long ago.

To overcome the FL rule that the wages paid should be no more than a % of turnover. Individuals can 'sponsor' players etc. I have quoted this many times when Raymond Bloye was Chairman of CPFC none of the players were employed by them but by Matthews Butchers as PR Executives who in turn lent their services to CPFC.

You, possibly, have to feel sorry for the Notts County players that have been trying their hardest for the club, but will be ousted out by the new regime.

I am not a huge fan of this Football Manager Cheat type thing (I.e. Sell a shit player for £40m) and work your way up the league with money, but it is quite exciting to see what happens there. Would be good to eclipse Notts Forest, if they can.

At said education level you learn not to use apostrophes to express a plural

I thought it was perfectly acceptable to use an apostrophe for the plural of a mark/grade. I stand corrected, if you are, indeed, correct. There are plenty of exceptions to rules.

Very overrrated keeper anyway- if he didn't have the name Schmeichel he'd have been binned to a lower league club some time ago. Nowhere near as good as even Joe Hart, City's second choice keeper until recently.

The fact that he's managed to do so on evidently such a high wage is a reflection of what mugs clubs can be when they've got money. I can think of plenty of keepers in Leagues One and Two who I'd prefer to Schmeichel, but they don't have famous daddies upon whose name to trade.
