Inch or so long scar on my left cheek after it was re-arranged by a bottle 20 odd years ago.

One on my chest after an operation to remove lipomas, same for the forearm. The surgeon injected me to numb the area and decided to start carving in the one place he hadn't injected......

If you dont mind me asking why were the lipomas removed…i seem to have about ten and no ones mentioned removal

A 1.5 inch scar complete with stitch marks on the right hand, goes from my little finger in a crescent towards my wrist. Almost had two fingers amputated from that one.

One 1 inch scar on the right side of my right hand. A perfectly straight line, when I was 17, I was extremely stoned and someone laid a red hot metal pipe on my hand, only noticed when I could smell burning flesh. Yummy. Don't do drugs, kids.

Right wrist, about 2 inches going up my arm. My cat sleeps wrapped around my arm, she must've had a nightmare of some description (rescue cat) and she totally spazzed out, clawed the shit out of me and I couldn't get her to let go.

Several scars on my left foot from an ingrowing toenail operation. My big toe now resembles either a fleshy envelope or a small penis with a large helmet, depending on the angle.

A 6 inch scar right around the back of my head. Always the topic of conversation at work as I never tell anyone how I got it.

I have bullshit stories for a couple of mine, which usually gets the response "Really!?" to which I say "No", or "Bullshit!" to which I say yes.
Worked with a guy who had a glass eye or patch depending on how he was feeling, who had a cracking long winded story if anyone asked, which didn't include him losing the eye, but involved him upsetting a gypsy, if further enquiries were made about how he lost the eye, he would reply, "If you upset a gypsy they never forgive, so you have to keep an eye out for him."

Got loads on my fingers/hands/wrists. Sheet thin gauge stainless steel is ****ing sharp.

One on left inner forearm after I fell off a ladder and landed on said ladder.

A few on the shins from MTB pedals

One above my right eyebrow from a wayward ice hockey stick.

2 rows of 3 1cm scars on my left knee cap trying to run up the down escalators at the old Churchill Sq and tripping up and trying to crawl the last few to get to the top. (That involved lots of doctors trips as you can imagine just how dirty those stairs were).

And although not a scar I don't have a left middle finger print after I tried picking up a hot piece of metal at work and literally burnt it off.

I've got several scars from having moles cut out.

Back in 97 I just finished playing squash and getting changed when some random bloke said to me "ooo you better get that checked out" I said "what you talking about?" he said "That mole on your back, it doesn't look right. My dad had a mole like that and it turned out to be cancerous"

So being in my mid 20's I said thanks and ignored him, however I did go to the Doctors a month later, just because I couldn't stop thinking about what he said.
So I saw a specialist and he said "Yes we'll cut that out, and also the one on your arm as I don't like the look of that one"

Anyway after being cut and they got checked, I got called back and he said "The one on your back is fine, however the one on your arm is a bit dangerous (a malignant melanoma) and it's spread so we need to cut more of your skin" Thankfully the next removal got all of it. So over the years I've been vigilant in looking for different shaped moles, if I see one I get it cut out. Luckily though all fine since.

However if it wasn't for that bloke saying that to me, I have no doubt I would have died from skin cancer probably a few years after.

I have a massive psychological scar from the 1993 NatWest Final when Sussex batted first and scored a record 321 runs only to lose to Warwickshire after we allowed Asif f*cking Din to get 104.

This was far worse than the Palace play-off loss or the Euro '96 semi-final loss to Germany on penalties.

You’ve not seen nothing like the Asif Din still rings in my ear.

Double hernia scars.
Eye scar West Street.
Above nose running into a glass door.
Neck basal cell carcinoma.
Knob cut at 2 years old.
All now hidden by wrinkles.

TEN ? You, lucky, lucky *******... According to more than one doctor I have the worse case ever know. I've been awarded a job at a medical school. Not while I'm alive though...

No, I've got scores of them. One or two were causing difficulties on the chest bone and inside elbow and getting sore. So they were removed after I kept belly aching about it.

It's normally a private medical thingy as the NHS won't do it, only under certain conditions. Privately it's normally a good few hundred quid to remove a couple or so. Mine would cost many thousands. I'm past caring really. I'm sure there are many folk who'd prefer to have lipomatosis as their chief medical concern.

I was visiting a friend at Chichester Uni on the weekend of my 21st birthday. We were off to the SU and my mate said he knew a shortcut which might require us to climb over a fence but it shaved a load of time off the journey. We get there and the fence is a lot higher than I realise, but we clamber over it and carry on. About 10 seconds later someone tells me that my legs bleeding. Look down expecting a graze and just see blood pouring out a hole in my jeans. Turns out I'd taken a chunk out of my leg on the way over the fence.

The worst part was the fence we'd climbed over was the back of Chichester hospital so we had to go all the way round.

Told my mates to go out, but one came back with me to A&E. It turns out my leg was bleeding so much that I had to be cut out of my jeans before they could even look at the cut. Me and my pal were waiting for ages and realised our drunken mucking about; whilst innocent, was probably quite annoying for the A&E staff so I decided if it was serious they'd have seen me by now - so we went back to his house and kept on drinking instead. Still got the scar on my leg, probably the size of a 10p and 5p coin next to each other, probably should have got stiches really.

Cool story bro :D

Seriously this is a good post and good advice about getting moles checked. I asked for advice at the hospital about a mole when I was seeing the skin specialist about something else.

I also had a Lipoma ( fatty lump ) at the top of my leg at the back, I got it checked by my doctor and was told it was nothing to worry about but could have it removed if I wanted.
A few years later I bought some new work trousers and they were uncomfortable next to the lump, I went back to the doctors and asked about an operation to get it removed.
I was on the operating table waiting for the surgeon and the nurse said he’s a bit stroppy, he marched in an told me I didn’t need it cut out and why was I worried, he did do the op though.
I then got a call from the doctor to say they needed to cut more out as they had suspected it could be cancerous.

I’ll play

Bridge of nose
Just below left eye
Right cheek
Back of right ear (2)
Bit missing of left ear

all basal cell carcinomas

Back of right calf 4 inch scar ..removal of mole…early stage melanoma

Left knee cap…clumsy with a hedgecutter

Left hand.. missing bits of two fingers..clumsy with a lawnmower

If i avoided the sun and garden machinery I’d probably be scar free

After that lot, I think I’d move into a 3rd floor flat with no window box.

I was fortunate with my mole in that it was easy to see (calf)..but having had many procedures for sorting out low grade skin cancers I’m always checking….the mole scared me a bit when a Macmillan nurse got involved

Above hairline: slice from buckle during bag fight, nick from goalpost collapsing on head, nick from brick falling 1 storey onto head, various tears from prolonged booting by 2para.
Forehead: Harry potter scar from flying headbutt to corner of building age 8?
Scar by temple from van door opened onto me at speed.
A few others I've forgotten.
Scar on wrist from playing game with a knife, looked like decent suicide attempt but wasn't. Scars further up from catching forearm in packing machinery.
Further various scars on arms from burbs and carelessness near sharp things.
Interesting scar on thumb where I cut it deep in one direction and superglued it myself then a week later cut the same thumb even deeper causing a big flap to curl over and then fork in two along the line of original cut.
Big scar on shoulder. Origin unknown.

It doesn't improve much as we go down so I'll stop.

Cancer, left tonsil.
That scar is from having my lymph nodes removed.
It is still completely numb above the scar until half way up my cheek. But , it’s better than the alternative.

West is BEST
24 stitches and ten inch scar on one shin
30 and 12 inch scar on the another

Several on forehead and chin.

4 inch scar on knee from being stabbed with a screwdriver by a pikey.

5 inch scar on side

Two 7 inch scars on my right shoulder.

Inch scar on right forearm from dog bite

Got most through stunt work, security work and rock climbing mishaps. Only one that gives me gip is the knee and am going to have to get some scar tissue cut away at some point. Other than that, I don’t think about the others much.
