Signed! Is this because of the noise of the music or the noise of people gathering outside? Every time I've been there since it was done up the bouncers have had quite a job keeping everyone quiet in the smoking bit.

Freebutt is very good. It has a great line up of bands. Will be a shame to see it go.

and what's with having to go out one door, out another, up a flight of stairs, through another door, down a flight of stairs, through a door, down a corridor and through another door for a pee these days - and the reverse afterwards?

Signed.

They get so many great under-the-radar bands in at The Freebutt, it'd be a shame to to let such a important Brighton venue go.

The threat of closure is because of one complaint from a neighbouring resident (who probably moved in knowing that there was a live music venue next door). It also seems that the resident is refusing the Freebutt entry to their property to allow the venue to properly assess how to solve the noise bleeding issues. Would be a real shame and a massive joke if the place closed because of this.

Is it possible that the Argus will get involved? There needs to be some fuss about it. Lets face it Brighton generally thrives on its image as a cultural centre, yet it seems that no one really cares if all the small venues that help create this are allowed to close for suprious reasons.
